That compressor running all the time? You're losing pressure somewhere. Take it to another shop - you need to find the leak before you burn it out - otherwise it's the compressor plus whatever component failed.

I really like this generation of Range Rover. I was looking at getting a supercharged version when I bought my 955 Cayenne Turbo a few years. I think I made the right call because I can barely stand how much work the Cayenne constantly needs. I live in Breckenridge, CO so getting any car work done is a pain. Maybe I just need a car with a warranty lol. All that being said, I still wonder "what if" when I see one of these Range Rovers driving around.

For the steering wheel, try a hard brush and lots of soap…go at it hard. You need lots of foam. Use paper towels to soak up the overflow. You’ll be surprised.

Head over to Harry's Garage for his glowing review of the L322. He makes a visit to Jeremy Clarkson's farm where they compare their similar RR's.

Man, I think the stock 19's are just right for something like this. Perfect amount of sidewall.
@chamberlin14 ай бұрын
Supercharger is a requirement at a mile high. It's basically getting you back down to sea level performance, maybe plus a couple more horses. BTW, I think you are referring to the 7 spokes affectionately called the 'Stormer' wheels. They're still available as new old stock for $4200 a set. I'm guessing you found a used set that needed refurbing (even before they got damaged during shipping)...it's so hard to find a good OEM set of 20's that haven't been refinished or aren't trashed.

Not sure if you found a winch bumper yet. A customehas their l322 at OC Rovers in socal. It looks great. Maybe you can call them

I wouldn't really add any off-road mods imo, put a towbar on it instead and use it as a tower as these are great for this

Where did you get your car repaired? The brakes in particular?
@Black-Villain7 ай бұрын
For your brake thing, it's possible they didn't bleed/actuate the ABS motor when replacing the fluid or weren't able to get all the air out of it, I've had exactly what you describe happen on some other cars... go take it on a gravel road and stomp on the pedal at like 10-15mph and get the ABS to actuate for a few seconds, sometimes it firms the pedal right up. While it has low mileage, I'd get them to do a trans service. It sucks doing the first time on an LR3/L322/RR-S because the OEM pan has the filter built in and no drain plug, and you have to remove a crossmember to get to it and it's overall not fun. Thankfully all of the aftermarket pan/filter kits have the pan and filter separate as well as a drain plug to make future servicing way easier. Def get the suspension looked at ASAP. Probably a leaking bag or valve. The compressor isn't meant to run that often, and if you don't fix it, it'll burn up and you're looking at an extra several hundred dollars just for the part
@richardh35877 ай бұрын
Yep - exactly my thought as well. Same thing with bmws (with which this shared its ancestry)
@tdc76 ай бұрын
L322 doesn’t have the crossmember in the way?
@Black-Villain6 ай бұрын
@@tdc7 you have to on the LR3/LR4/RRS, I just assumed the l322 was the same after they switched to the Jag drivetrain in '06
@LDsgarage6 ай бұрын
@tdc7 correct! I did my 4.2 09 L322 and did not have the crossmember. Also, i would highly recommend sticking to the stock ZF pan with the built-in filter for the transmission
@chamberlin14 ай бұрын
You don't have to remove the crossmember on those particular models (not the L322) with that metal pan filter kit... you hacksaw the old filter inlet tube to get it out.

Glad you have so much money to get a car that is a repair and replace for the RR. They are all bad not worth the cost.

Kyle, you've always been my EV you tube guy, helped convince me to get a Bolt a few years ago too. But now you're another one of my L322 guys! I bought a 2012 Lux a few years ago and LOVE it. I think you're right to go with a non supercharged version. It's not really needed or a sports car so reliability will be better. My compressor runs for about a minute on first start up then hardly runs. If yours is running a lot after that start looking for leaks.

@@georgesemple8136 I think you mean "running?" Dealing with a few errors occasionally with the Range Rover is better than driving something else inferior. They're not too unreliable if well taken care of and a little know how.
