@@nyrangersfan6325 How good/bad DeBoer is as a coach is still unknown to me. The Sharks rise and decline was due to the Sharks GM more than Deboer. The karl trade and Martin Jones contract really hurt the Sharks and Deboer by default looked bad over it even if he had no say in either. The Knights should have made the playoffs this season and the players really let Deboer down. The knights doing so bad in shoot outs was on the players alone. Either way the Knights GM is worse than Deboer just like the Sharks GM who hired Deboer who was fired. My point being both the Sharks and Knights GMs became like a train wreck and EVERY coach would look worse over it. Even the Knights having Laurent Brossoit I would have demanded he be sent to the minors and let me pick my own backup goalie if I was Pete. Pete took 2 teams to a cup finals but how much was it him or the GM is the question?

As a Flyers fan, this was tough to watch on multiple accounts. First, to see the Rangers deep in the playoffs, compared to the dumpster fire the Flyers are now... wow. Also, I'm not surprised one bit how well Gallant is doing with NYR, given his success with his previous teams. And then there's Rod Brind'Amour... wouldn't he look good behind the Flyers bench... but I don't think the Canes are nearly crazy enough to get rid of him. Two really good teams faced each other and took until game 7 to decide a winner... when will the Flyers be anywhere close to this good? I fear it will be several years.

Seeing the highlights of this game, I was thinking pretty much the same thing as "JS" below. Head coach Gallant is moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals, while "the chosen one" in Vegas, who was anxiously hired after Vegas management all but pushed Gallant out the door, did not even make the playoffs. While 2021-22 is not all on the head coach in Vegas, given all the injuries, the karma is.
