Yes I may have not have watched anime for 30 years but man I have to agree that this anime (Ousama ranking) is a fucking amazing piece of media and if you are into action and a story I honestly can’t tell you a reason not to watch it and at least for me depending on the current season it could easily be better than 86 and mushoku tensei.

Yo finally I found another man of culture on my level. 1 million % agree Ousama Ranking is a 10/10 must watch. No joke it had me by the balls emotionally after literally the first episode. Every character is unique and has their own back story, and it weaves them together into a seamless tapestry of feels that had me laughing and crying with joy and sorrow. Literally one of the reasons I have been binging Echidonut content is to see if at any point he mentions this gem of an anime. Prince Boji is quickly becoming one of my favorite anime MC of all time, already almost tied with Subaru for 1st place.

Pls suggest some nice anime series like this Ranking of kings I love neighbour totoro Ponyo etc most Ghibli movies

Nah, when a show does start getting more coverage, it starts getting lots of haters as well. Just look at Connor and his fanbase shitting on 86. This is the main disadvantage when a show starts to get more attention.

I've been thinking about reading ln for a while. How would you compare it to reading and other kind of book? Do you buy physical editions or digital?

@@chuecoxx I am reading the web novel online because it's free, but I've also ordered the physical 18th light novel volume. The only difference I can make between the wb and a normal book is that the wb is a bit more sketchy feeling by nature, it has more dialogue and the description of the surrounding environment is satisfactory despite that. I'm actually enjoying it more than a regular book and it's not because of the material at hand

It's up to you to read it but don't use the web novel to compare to the anime because the difference between the light novel is bigger than you think (new characters, chapters, perspectives, arcs). Since the anime and manga are adapting the light novel, should read and use that

Love both of them, but I gotta say Kage is my favorite. He starts out as a despicable thief, but quickly grows into the ultimate homie. Hands down one of the best dynamics between characters is the strong bonds of friendship Kage and Boji developed early on. But I do really like all the side characters in general they are all done extremely well.

Ousama Ranking is the only anime where every character is deep. No this villain is evil because we need an evil antagonist. All characters actions make sense, there is no cringey loli, oni-chan, pantie, harem fan-service shit.... Some people compare Rudeus' past to Naruto's past and said that Naruto had worse, like sure I can understand why people think that Naruto being an outcast, hated by everyone, be lonely all his childhood but bruh Rudeus had it worst in his past life, Some people don't even know this but Rudeus was trying to protect someone from bullies like Takemichi from Tokyo Revengers but got back fired and being the target instead Rudeus have to suffer being beaten up everyday, being shown naked in front of the whole class and the picture being posted on social media for the whole school to see, this is the worst punishment for someone who try to do good in his past life and become a shut in from when he was in High School (14-17 years old) and have a close to 20 years of being alone and have zero experience of life. So it make sense sometimes he act like a child and still a teenager inside. Some people think when they do some math 34+13=50 years old and said he is not allow to love someone who is young and mature, even use Roxy as an argument that she look like loli and that make him a pedo. YES THIS, its basically got the same vibe as Tonikawa so if you liked that you will probably like this one as well. Wholesome but with seriousness and characters that at first you hate but then learn to love. Definitely worth a watch!

I am really liking that anime, Yuzu is just so sweet, the MC can be annoying due how much of a pushover he can be, but hell there are damn good reasons for him to be that way (unlike 99% of similar characters) and there is a an slow but noticeable progress about it, the historical setting is just such a perfect background too; it is a shame that anime is not in this list.

I was also sad to not see taisho otome in the list ;( it's such a heart-warming story, I wish more people noticed it this season.

They do say they barely watch anime anymore. Connor doesnt watch anything that isnt a 12 episode series, that has action in it, and is fast paced. He actually trashed on 86 for being bland, and overdone and all about “racism”. (Because he watched 3 episodes while riding on a plane..) He always talks about being on his phone when watching shows/movies too. You cant get into a show without giving it your fill attention..
