I love Mountain Dew's Baja Blast flavor originally from Taco Bell. But I cannot have it often at all because it has a lot of sugar just like most sodas. You can now buy it at most grocery stores. I prefer the original Mountain Dew, honestly. On to the names... Powder, Blast, Ice, Frost, Glaciers and Canyons are beyond awful. How they are even contenders is beyond me. Freeze? No thanks. Shockingly, prior to the naming of the Minnesota Wild, Freeze was one of the 6 finalists for naming that franchise. Squall? Love the weather term, but it would never work for a sports team. You cannot really create a logo for it that works. Fury? Hive? Too minor league. Blizzard? It's okay, but like Squall, it is really limited on what you can do with it. The Colorado Avalanche already use a similar theme for their team. Black Diamonds will never work. What could ever be used for that as a team name. There already is the Golden Knights, so we don't need another color used. And also that it would be a mouthful to say when identifying Utah's team. Part of why Bill Foley used Las Vegas' unofficial nickname for his team (which I cannot stand, by the way... wish they were just simply called the "Las Vegas Knights"). So I hope Black Diamonds is NOT chosen. Mountaineers is not bad, but that concept is a bit underwhelming for me despite the decent logo. That name is used for a college sports program. The University of West Virginia have their teams called the Mountaineers. I do like Caribou better and has potential for a good branding identity. Outlaws is fine, but overused elsewhere in sports. I think it would be more appropriate if Houston gets a team. I really like Mammoth. I have seen concepts for it and that can work as like you said, it can be an intimidating creature for a hockey team. Venom? Lots of potential and it would be useful for a type of snake. Similar to the Arizona Diamondbacks... I do not mind the Swarm since Utah is the Beehive State. Certainly workable for a brand, but then again I don't want it similar to the Charlotte Hornets. I had seen a concept where its logo looked exactly like the Hornets' primary logo, but with the Swarm wordmark. So no. I'm more likely to hope they pick Yeti as the name. At least you can create a menacing bigfoot face for a logo.

Gotta say I would have liked Raptors or Sting.
