Ranshaw is the first company I ever worked for that actually makes me excited to get up in the morning and go learn something new everyday. The service trucks, built by Mr. Hing Lai, are the cleanest, safest, and actually fun, to work out of. Doing your job out of these trucks are incredibly convenient, items do not have to be searched for(there is a spot for EVERYTHING) and are unbelievably easy to be kept clean. Way to go Hing, way to go Ranshaw... for being the LEADERS in Service Trucks!

This is awesome! I have never seen a service truck designed with so much love and functionality. I can only imagine the quality of work these passionate guys perform.

That's absolutely gorgeous :) Most people don't understand a truck like this quickly earns back the time and effort put in. And of course it makes working a lot more fun.

+OwLoLz You are right...it is such a pleasure from working out of this truck and it makes my time so efficient . This was the first video that we did and we were quite inexperienced in taking a good video as apparent by all the background noise. I built a newer version of this truck with even better improvements with a better quality video...check out Ranshaw 2015 plumbing truck. You will like that even more...thanks for viewing this video and leaving a comment

+Hing Lai Yeah I've already watched it. Even better indeed. I often thought my workvan (renault traffic) was perfect for it's job, and when I add or change something I wonder why I never did that before :) I've only got one drawer though, I want everything to be visual and easily accessible with one hand, but I can see that it does work if you label it like you did.

I believe some of the people making remarks like the truck must be hard to keep clean are not paying attention. In comparison with many videos I have watched, anybody that did the plywood shelves did not close them and did not varnish the wood. The varnish on the wood allows for a quick wipe down. And furthermore if you wipe it down as it gets dirty (at the end of the day not at the end of the month) it is much easier to keep clean. Same with the tools or parts if you put them away in their respective place and not throw them wherever, it will be a lot easier to keep track of what is in the truck. And I believe that someone like Mr. Hing Lai and his attention to order would not allow himself to leave things lying around and dust and dirt and fingerprints to accumulate. ALL MY RESPECT to Mr. Hing Lai and to the owners allowing him to prove his ideas.

Well done guys ; Its Soooo difficult to be clean and organized in our trade, especially the service side...I drive around in my plumbing van making educated guesses as to what just fell or came flying off the shelves!

+Kat L kat, this was our first video and I have to say it was done pretty poorly but you should check out my 2015 Ranshaw plumbing truck and Ranshaw service van....those videos are a lot better and I made a lot of improvements. Look for new videos in the summer because I just finished a 2016 sprinter service van. Thank you for leaving a comment. Metal shelves are the worst!!!!

Great work& detail....would have BIN a lot cheaper to purchase weather guard shelving or equivalent.Trades work better when they don't have to work opening & closing ,cupboards ....and you add much more inefficient weight...

Walker, this was the first sprinter plumbing truck that I built, since then, I have built 5 more trucks that are even better than this one. This truck was a experiment and a prototype and since then I have made a lot of improvements so please check out our other videos. If you really look at a lot of the trucks that the trades use with the metal shelving, they just don't compare.....take a good look at them because every one that I have seen were a total disaster. The shelves kept falling off and the stuff was sliding around and falling all over the place. There was always stuff on the floor with no clear walkway and the truck was a complete mess.....they could never find anything. This truck is the sprinter 3500 with the dual wheels and if it can handle the additional weight of 7 sheets of 3/4" cabinet grade plywood and 4 sheets of 1/2" plywood. This truck has the largest payload capacity that sprinter offers so weight is of no issue for me. In terms of metal shelves, the cost is the same but with wood, I can utilize every in of space, something that the metal shelves can't do. All the plumbing companies that I know complain about their metal shelving system except our guys that use the trucks that I build for them. I always feature our newest trucks at a plumbing trade show every year and usually , all the plumbing companies are in awe of how a plumbing truck can be...fully stocked, clean with walking room to spare so a person can work like a gentleman. My trucks have been featured in several plumbing magazines and publications several times and it seems that there are very few or none at all a custom hand crafted plumbing truck built by a plumber for a plumber. Thank you very much for watching and leaving a comment but please check out the other trucks that I have built for ranshaw. By the way, Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Walker, actually when we priced it out, to duplicate my truck in metal would have costed more and it would not have used every inch of usable space. We have other Plumbing companies who have used metal shelves and they ended up ripping them out and building them out of wood. We need that floor space because that is the only way to put in a 100 gallon water heater in, general water jetter, rigid sewer machines, boilers etc. The wide open space is a absolute must for us. The truck can handle the extra weight of the plywood and there are no squeaks...the wood is an integral part of the truck. I would love to look at trucks designed by the trades....I always look at every truck that I pass by. Keep in touch

Once again I only see 1 little flat you said had your tools. I have a 3x5 foot 14 drawer tool box. Dont leave home without it. Of course mine is bolted in. I get that you don't carry your snakes with you. But what if you get to a job & the customer says. " can you snake out my kitchen sink line. It's been running slow lately." Do you really need to run back to the shop to retrieve a snake?? Then, faucets in different finishes? Stops & supplies? I'm thinking this is more of a gas fitting truck than a small job plumbing truck. Tool, Tool, & more Tools???

true. i see a lot of cool stuff in this truck. but for a plumbing service company the first 2 things that a plumber needs besides a flashlight and a knife are the small channel locks and screwdriver(minimum 6 in one)
@ltsgarage7780
@ltsgarage7780 5 жыл бұрын
@@joeg7171 12 inch channel locks a 6 in 1 screw driver, 3 sizes of crescent wrenches. 4 thru 8 inch. 7/16 thru 5/8 open wrenches. Pretty much what I've carried around in my tote for the last 45 years.

have you had any over payload issues? My father owns a plumbing company in Maryland we have about 20 trucks but I was just given a new Chevy cutaway the big box and so far we had to replace the leaf springs and get new tires because of a weight issue
@MrTellyflubby
@MrTellyflubby 8 жыл бұрын
No I never had any issues because my truck is fully loaded with its normal weight with all the items on the truck ....if I load it up with heavier items, it is only on a temporary basis so the springs are not permanently loaded. This was the first video we did which was recorded pretty poorly....we other videos that were done a lot better on you tube. Since I posted this video, I have built 4 more trucks (two more posted on you tube) but I will past the latest truck with all the new features by the end of this month...check it out.

+Coleman Sullivan , Not at all!!!! No apologies needed!! It was a very crude video and it is the truth. It was extremely noisy because we were on the street, the sun was in our eyes and the guy taking the video was too far away. At least we learned what we did wrong and each successive video got better and better. Thanks for your honest comments....it is greatly appreciated.

Sorry this video was the first one we did so the quality was pretty poor but this truck is still clean to this day with no issues whatsoever...you can take a look at all of the other trucks that I have built and they have held up better than metal shelves which always pull away from the walls of the truck. These haven't. I invite you to see for yourself in you are in the neighborhood. I have built seven trucks like these in total. See for yourself on youtube.
