I always loved Lemmy's opening line when they took the stage. "We're Motorhead, and we play rock and roll."

Motorhead is the definition of all killer-no filler, even the guitar solo's are brief, rock your face off and are gone as quickly as it appeared. Most guitar solo's are done to show off the guitarists capabilities and can feel out of place (I say that as a guitarist), but their solo's feel like they belong.

Lemmy did vocals and played bass for Motorhead. And he is missed every day. RIP

Motörhead was the last piece of Speed Metal, right before it became Thrash Metal. They were great influences on Metallica and other bands of the early Thrash movement.

The dead man's hand was actually held by Wild Bill Hickock. He normally tried to sit facing the door of the bar for this particular game he had his back to the door and was shot in the back. It turned out he had aces and eights, hence the dead man's hand.

NICE! i was at lemmy's last show, Anthrax opened with Joey on vocals... you would have never known that man had terminal brain cancer....he melted our faces off for over an hour and a half.

Lemmy was a brilliant lyricist, he wrote several songs for Ozzy. Motorhead were officially the loudest band in the world, I know that from experience, deaf for 2 days after.

RIP Lemmy, “Fast” Eddie Clarke, and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor. The original Motörhead lineup is all gone but damn sure never to be forgotten.

Hawkwind, one of my favourite bands, saw them at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019, great show. Lemmy was in the classic line-up from 1971-75. He named Motorhead after the last song he wrote for the Hawks. Songs (Lemmy era): Urban Guerrilla, You'd Better Believe It, Psychedelic Warlords, Assault and Battery/Golden Void, D-Rider, Space is Deep, *Silver Machine, *Lost Johnny (*Lemmy vocals), Orgone Accumulator. 'Hall of the Mountain Grill' is regarded to be their best album.

When Lemmy Died, in honour of his favourite drink, a few mates organised a petition to have a Jack's and Coke changed to 'a Lemmy' in Perth, Western Australia. A few bars and clubs picked it up but nothing official went through

Oh man that opening bass line always gets me amped up! Yes Lemmy lived a wild life, but as Dave Grohl said, he also had the biggest heart. Speaking at Lemmy’s funeral, Dave said that when he met Lemmy, the first thing Lemmy ever said to him was “hey I’m sorry about what happened to your friend” (Kurt Cobain). He also told some funny stories about “going to his apartment and walking through the aisles of magazines and pornos like a Hoarders episode… or going to the Rainbow (bar & grill) and ordering two Jack & cokes, and the waitress brings him two Jack & cokes and his fucking mail?!? That’s pretty huge” 😆

Lemmy played bass. He strummed it like a guitar to give it that droning sound. The studio version cannot hold a candle to seeing them live. They were the loudest live band I have ever heard in my life.

There are many things that can be said about Lemmy, but what sticks to my mind were the interviews. The man was one of the most intelligent rockers out there, always quick on the draw and never averse to verbally out-match the interviewer, especially on questions which were from borderline insulting to a metaphorical a kick in the shin. Motörhead got a lot of flack by journalists in its heyday, and the band loved and cherished it. And always there was Lemmy, ready to fan the flames.

Lemmy was the lead singer and one of the best bass players ever to have lived in my opinion. His voice is iconic and stands out from everyone else and his playing does too. RIP the greatest
