As a Canadian watching that game on tv I cringed so hard when those fans cheered. I knew it wasn't a good look for us and that a lot of people are going to hold a grudge against our fanbase for it. I know they didn't mean to cheer the injury and were just celebrating having a KD off the floor but still no excuse for it.

Their initial reaction was to cheer because they just felt their chances at their first ever championship improve. Many fans actually apologized after the fact also and said they were just caught up in the moment. The whole stadium started chanting his name and wishing him well as he was taken off the floor

Yea i was in jurrasic park for that game 5, and everyone let out a "YES!!!" when they showed his injury. KD torched us in the few minutes he played and we saw him getting injured as our championship hopes becoming alive again

Leafguy535 there was also a turnover on the play and we went the other way and scored. I was in the building for game 5 and everyone was cheering because we scored. Then when we saw he was legit hurt it got quiet

I saw the fans cheered because the Raptors caused a turnover and scored in transition. Just like how fans would react in a similar situation in any other game in any sporting event (football, soccer, hockey, baseball, etc.)
