Pete Rivera is one of my all time favorite singing drummers! If you do Get Ready, consider doing the long album version because they really stretch out musically! They do awesome covers of I Know I'm Losing You and Eleanor Rigby as well. Also Satisfaction Guaranteed and Born to Wander and the title track to their album 'Ma'.

Saw them in Madison Square Garden in '72. The opening act was Ruth Copeland whose backing band was the Funkadelics, then Rare Earth and finally the headliner Sly & the Family Stone. A funky, funky night to be sure.

As a drummer you should take up the suggestion from a lot of the people here and listen to " Get ready" the 21 minute version. The song is a jam session with each member soloing finishing off with the drummer who by the way is the lead singer.

Hello Chod, really appreciate your past comments about live music showing the real talent. Artists actually performing. With that said, please check out "Telegraph Road" in Sevilla 26.07.2015. This is Mark Knopler (Dire Straits founder, lead guitarist and lead singer) playing his 1982 song LIVE ... What is that, 33 years later. It's absolutely incredible.

Man I love me some Rare Earth! When I was 11 I got a tape of Rare Earth live on one side and Grand Funk on the other. I can testify that you can play a cassette so many times it stop playing correctly. lol When I think about fantasy concerts I'd put together one of them would definitely be; 1972, Grand Funk, Rare Earth, and Funkadelic. 💯
