I remember when my dates would have those huge 8 track cases in the back seat of their car. They took up an entire seat. BTW I always liked this song, it always made me feel good.

Music is truly a healing/mood altering thing! When my wife was dying from cancer 20 years ago I would crank up the Atlanta Rhythm Section song I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight every night when I got home from the hospital and it always got me through another day! You still need to give Dee a taste of Grand Funk!

Saw them live in 73 with Ten Years After and the Doobie Brothers and this is the song they closed the show with and the Doobie Brothers came out and jammed with them

To really appreciate this band you need to listen to the "Rare Earth In Concert" album, sometimes called the backpack album. A 2 record set with only 8 songs on the 4 sides. And that's only because they edited "Get Ready" down to 23 minutes from over an hour.

These guys were signed by Motown Records to appeal to the rock oriented youth at the time (late 60's, early70's). They covered many r&b tunes originally performed by the long established Motown acts. One you must do is "Get Ready" originally done by the Temptations.
