Never got excited for TV show or series like this. I really enjoy these episodes! Sometimes they make me laugh with your funny statements like "my opponent is playing a speed game" Don't know I'm the only one that laughs with such statements 😅 time runs when I'm watching these videos. Thank you Eric! Been waiting this for the past weeks.

Pretty sure the last guy's user name would translate to Mate in 23, since the last 5 digits can be interpreted as binary. Maybe a game that has significance to him finished in 23 moves?
@Modie
@Modie Ай бұрын
I thought the same thing and funnily enough, there was a potential mate on the 23rd move if the opponent wouldn't have defended with the rook. I was nearly expecting they do it for the lols.

I liked this episode a lot because the last game was very controlled and smooth, not like some games in the middle of the speedrun where the position is total caos. Is very nice to learn how to play a positional game and with stategy instead of tactics!

Fantastic series Eric. Was just looking at your evaluation of that last game. Doesn't Nd5 save the queen from getting trapped by facilitating Nb6 after Black plays Bb7 and counter-attacking the Queen? All lines seem to result in only loss of a piece instead of a full queen. Can you check this? Cheers from Adelaide, Australia! 🇦🇺

That second opponent was interesting. I think they're the type of player with really strong instincts, hence a decent rating, but don't really know the fundamentals. He didn't seem to have a plan, and that was obvious with the non-traditional opening. But I bet they're normally a decent positional player and can do well against most players their rating. It's just that you're able to punish their mistakes far better than any random 1600. I bet with some instruction or at least some work on openings and thinking they could really be a decent player.
