Rastafari gain sacramental rights to marijuana

(2 Jun 2023) For decades, members of the Rastafari community have been persecuted and imprisoned for their ritualistic use of marijuana. But the tiny islands of Antigua and Barbuda recently became one of the first Caribbean nations to grant Rastafari official sacramental authorization to grow the herb. Shouldn’t need any kind of license, permit, religious exemption of any kind. Alcohol and marijuana should be seen on the same level, same schedule. If your of age, then what’s wrong that. I mean if I can brew at home, then I should be able to grow at home.

Alcohol is an issue not marijuana, it's a prime example of seeing the inner soul, and to analyze the inner world comparing it to what's outside. In most casses it's just a reflection of the inner soul portrayed outside.

Interesting this popped up! Visiting beautiful Antigua and Barbuda right now from Toronto. Didn’t realize theres a strong Rasta population here. As visitors we had some incidents with locals and and several Rastas came to our rescue 🙏🏾 From what we went through getting access is still very regulated (register, medical card required etc) . Hope it becomes more accessible (decriminalized) for all in the future.

Nonsense. As Dr. Roneet Lev, Director of Emergency Department Operations at Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego says, "Every shift I treat someone for marijuana poisoning...every shift." Case closed.

No such thing as marijuana poisoning. Alcohol poisoning, yes. Consuming too much marijuana gives you accelerated heart palpitations and heightened anxiety that is why people panic and feel the need to go to the hospital. They could have easily have it pass at home with no problems. Alcohol poisoning causes severe dehydration, inflammation of the liver, shortness of breath, unconsciousness that can lead a person to a coma and death. Nobody dies from marijuana. Nobody. No matter how much the intoxication is. Alcohol causes death. Yet it is legal.
