Not only is this my 30th review, (making this a perfect time to marathon all my videos 😏) but from this point there probably won't be videos on any of the series I've covered to this point for a looooong time. I'm ready to tackle some different stuff. With that said, the next video/videos will be about the God of War trilogy on PS2/3. Don't know yet if it'll be the whole trilogy in one big video, maybe I'll do a poll, but regardless God of War is next and we'll go from there. I have other ideas of course but it all depends on how long God of War takes! Anyways, thank you guys so much for your patience and support as always. You guys are the best. DON'T FORGET IT!!!!!!

One thing that will always surprise me is that Orvus is voiced by Charles Martinet. Clank’s father is voiced by the man who gave us the voice of the most iconic video game character of all time. CLANK’S DAD IS SUPER F***ING MARIO!!!!

This was not only my first Ratchet game, but one of the first non-Lego games I ever played. Over ten years later, it's still a special game to me, and one that has undoubtedly influenced a lot of my tastes in gaming. And that ending remains my favorite in the series, as well as one of my favorite endings in all of gaming.

Just for fun, here's some cheesy tactics: You can throw constructo bomb with the landmine mod onto the hydra tank shield. so in combination with shrapnel for even more damage, that means you can throw half your bomb supply on the shield, remove one of the power supplies, have the shield drop and the bombs start dropping while the tank is doing it's head losing animation. Once the animation is done, the mines have moved as close to the center of the tank (hard to do since they would detonate in an area with less shrapnel that would hit it) and all explode at once and dealing 33% of the tank's health, aka, back to shield phase (meaning, you can in theory force the tank to only attack when it has all 3 heads) If you reload the area for Alister fight, Alister will be in the center of the great clock. A shop also spawns. This game has a sniper rifle. If you understand the implications, you can deal half of Alister's health from outside the Orvus chamber (you cannot do more damage since the cutscene where Alister says that he will kill Ratchet now, save him in the past force both Ratchet and Alister to be teleported to specific positions once it's done) In the arena, there's a challenge that asks you to destroy 50 Agorain projectiles and you are giving a turret to help with that. Fun fact, you can complete the challenge without using the turret and use your own weapons. I recommend using the Dynamo since the ball can cover such a big area for such a long duration. If you want to optimise your dps output while keeping yourself relatively safe (trust me, vorselon post game on new game extreme is no joke), you can abuse the stun duration of the mag net launcher, stun mod on constructo shotgun and cryo mines (cryo mines aren't consistant enough imo) by quick swapping to a different weapon, fire one shot then return to the previous weapon that has the stun capability. I'll make a 2nd comment for more fun fact that aren't cheesy tactics.

This was the first Ratchet & Clank game I actually owned (had played the prior ones at my cousins house) and I absolutely loved it. I'm glad the story and gameplay is as good as I remember it being. No joke, this game gave me one of those "play a game for so long that you feel like you're still playing it after you walk away" moments. I remember that I was stuck on one of the hardest clank time puzzles for a long time and as I got up to go get a snack, I felt like I could control time. Like I felt like I could make a copy of myself and slow time and shit lmao. It sounds dumb but it was one of those moments. Anyways, great video and very funny editing, as always lol

I finished A Crack in Time today and I just want to say, I love the detail of how near the start of the game Ratchet was chasing Alister and then at the end of the game your doing the same thing. Like history is being repeated or like your back at the start.

2nd comments that are fun facts: The Spiral of Carnage/Death was the winner of a community contest where the devs asked for weapon designs. Outside of the cameo in the movie, this weapon has only ever been seen in this game (from my knowledge) In the Insomniac Museum, it is revealed that the Nefarious space station would have tile based security systems that would have required the use of Clank's chronobombs to make them slow down so you can walk on the platforms safely. The devs says that it wasn't implemented because playtesters would get confused on what to do once they reached the part so they scrapped the mechanic out of the game. You can find a copy of the security system in the Museum that is still functionnal and by manner of association, you can deduce where these system would be found in the actual game since the tiles assets are still in the game itself, just without the security system. Some of the sidequests in the ship area have very funny plots featuring: - Placing/destroying the billboards of 2 rival shop owners in the area (you do work for both of them) - Helping a nerd hook up with a valkyrie (Aphelion mentions that the weapon systems are still online once they are hooked up) - A guy that asks you to collect a piece from a special wandering asteroid (the guy won't shut up on how you won't get any of the credits at the science reunion so he'll just pay you like 3k bolts instead)

This is my favorite game, alongside Going Commando! A Crack in Time really is cinema, with some spectacular visuals and moving scenes, but while I love watching it, I also love playing it. Even though Ratchet is without Clank, the Hoverboots makes his gameplay so much fun. The Clank gameplay is at its peak, featuring some of the most unique puzzles I've played. I also love listening to the radio stations while exploring the various moons within the different space sectors. I'll admit that the game's writing is flawed, but it's executed in a way that lets me ignore the flaws to feel, which is pretty impressive. I love the climax and ending so much! Good review btw.

I personally feel like the series should have ended here, since Crack in Time was originally planned as Ratchet & Clank series finale. But because how well Crack in Time & the Future Trilogy did in the box office, Sony pushed Insomniac to make more Ratchet games & what we got after Crack in Time wasn't really good. :/

Crack in time is peak ratchet narratively its crazy how well made it is and even playing it years later it'll hold up quite well. Though the nose dive the series has went through since the game's release, its funny how gaming has taken the more cinematic touch that started in tools yet none have reached the peak imo that crack in time did.

This Game was the Reason Why I got into The Series. Deadlocked sealed the deal for Me. I remember playing and beating The Original First R&C that started It all after my graduation year. Then Follow by Up Your Arsenal. My List R&C: Deadlocked R&C: Up Your Arsenal R&C: A Crack In Time R&C: Tools of Destruction Original R&C Not The Reboot R&C: Into The Nexus All 4 One was Okay... Size Matters was decent at best. Quest for booty shouldn't have existed. Haven't touched Agent Clank. I should really get to playing Going Commando since It was The Peak of The Series likes any Other Videogame Franchise's First Sequel. Haven't played the latest Installment Rift Apart since I don't own a PS5 and was annoyed when They didn't include It for The PS4 as well. Wasn't really no incentive to get a PS5 especially when Covid was still around

Although the Hover Boots reappear in a few of the next titles, the controls for them are actually worse in those games, I think they worked perfectly in this game and they kinda ruined them in future titles, Rift Apart wasn't too bad with them, but they were still better in ACIT.

Yep, this is it. Don't really have much to add after watching your review though I still wonder how fans would feel if the series truly ended here (would be fine with it myself) and Sony never wanting the series to continue just for a decade of ok/middling games and a subpar movie adaptation (at least the comics were good). I genuinely do hope that after SM2 and Wolverine release Insomniac drops one last game about the lombax dimension and then end the franchise for good because at this point that's the only narrative aspect worth exploring (even with Rivet and Kit) and there's little to improve on the core gameplay outside of experimental mechanics.

After watching your vids of the previous games got me back into Ratchet and Clank, I knew I had to finally play the future saga for the first time. I replayed 1-Gladiator, and before watching your Tools video I played the game and wholeheartedly agree with your review; in fact I actually think I disliked Tools more than you did lol (the *only* part of that game I liked was Sargasso). Quest for Booty was even worse, so I came into this one really pessimistic, but man, did it win me over. As you say, what a fricken amazing ending that _almost_ makes the garbage that came before worth it. Finally finished it today and watched your review ( I love your vid style btw!), so yea, just thank you for sending me into an R&C phase again. Now to play QForce and Nexus lol

I know I already wrote 2 very long comments about this game but I must say the ending act of the game is one of my favorite moments in gaming. Unsure what is my top favorite moment but I'll do a list (in no particular order) for both games I played and only watched. (spoilers up ahead) Played: Alister killing Ratchet (obviously) Bowser final set of punches in Mario and Luigi: Bowser Inside story The first time I enter the moon of Petrichor V during the 1.0 release of risk of rain 2 (I unironically shed tears) Doing my first solo loud (with AI) DDOS heist in payday 2 (felt rewarding to an achievement that I felt that I achieved and not gotten simply because a friend of mine dragged me for stealth heists and asked me to sit there for 20 minutes (still need to removed like 20+ of them since I feel that I've lost something by getting those)) Watched only: Outer wilds ending (yeah, I've spoiled myself on knowledge for this game and I regret that I'll never experience it blind) Persona 5 strikers, the awakening on the 8/28 in the game Street Fighter moment 37 Pizza tower (anything starting the WAR level) Watching live the CTWC 2022 world final (like 2 million points in classic NES tetris for both players for one of the rounds and probably the only chance we will get to see double post level 39 gameplay at a CTWC with the new rule set for double the killscreen speed starting level 39 to make sure you can't win by doing singles into oblivion post killscreen) I know most of these moments are gameplay related and not cutscenes but IDK man ok.

The future Saga feels so different to the original ps2 trilogy that it almost boggles my mind. Honestly the modern games would probably be good for a vs video with the old ones.

Dude I recently beat this one when you made your tools of destruction video and I started it waaay back in 2017 when I tried the old ps plus subscription and this one is miles better than tools. This one had the better story, gameplay, the moon exploration bits reminded me of going commando and I really dug how they tried here compared to the last one. This one is my favorite of the future saga

Like God of War 3 getting a remaster for PS4, Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time also deserves a remaster for PS4/PS5.

I think I played the game like 3 time on I think new game plus or something. The Sonic Eruptor was my favorite weapon, because it sounded cool that it had a deadly mating call. All the weapon videos were supercool and I liked the Insomniac Museum so much were you could see how the game was made and I liked looking at the developer art for the game.

Tools has better reviews because of context, it was released in an awful time for Sony and PS3 because of the release price, bad marketing and press and average first games, so TOD was a refreshing title for the horrendously bad first years of the PS3 cycle.
