"Put the stiles on the other side of the room". This is sage advice. I've cut tenons in my stiles a few times... Your project turned out great!

One tip... ALWAYS cope the end of the rails first. Then route the center profile on the edges. This will prevent tearout on the rails and give you a perfectly clean profile in the joint.

I actually tried that in my latest project. You are right, it works great!

Never knew there was so much work to still be done once you got to the install! I guess that’s why it’s called a custom build 😊 beautiful work as always!

You do exceptional work. The shop upgrade and equipment adds have to make your workflow so much more manageable. Nate D below nailed it on the collection of tips you have in both parts of this. I think the true genius one was the reversed quick grip clamp trick to support the upper cabinet - mind blown. I also wish I could say I've never screwed up a rail and stile door... so at least I'm in good company.

Thanks! For real! As the shop gets set up and organized, it's becoming 👌. Ironically, I don't even know if I mentioned the quick grip clamp trick in my narration. Just the video footage. And WE'VE ALL SCREWED UP A RAIL AND STILE! Thanks for watching as always

nice job. Where can i get those paint hangers for the doors? and what paint was that you used?

This is the hanger system I use for spraying paintlifesupply.com/products/prodryingrack-sd?keyword=&matchtype=&tracking=&placement=&device=c&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAqY6tBhAtEiwAHeRopYAZOWcbNTlSTheiikt-qDFtaE9cU7GhEBIvBSr7qqMOZswRatvwmRoCdrcQAvD_BwE I get the hooks from amazon - amzn.to/4aXMWUE And the finish is envirothane 170 primer and envirothane 200 White topcoat in 20 sheen. I suggest using the catalyist in the primer for crack prevention. You can get these products shipped from On site finishing - www.osfinish.com/

This is all fantastic. But how on earth do you keep your shop tidy and uncluttered? I feel like every time I go into my shop, stuff just appears all over the table tops.

I have a roller cart that is allowed to be messy. All of my random stuff collects there. Then if my tables get cluttered, I shove everything onto the cart

Excellent work as usual, Sir! I do have a question about one thing I have noticed in your videos...and that is...I have noticed you use a measuring tape allot for measurements. I was always told that it is more accurate to use other means of measurement as tapes do not always have the calibration and consistency that other measuring precision devices have. Just something I have noticed. Although you do not seem to have any issues with using a tape as evidenced by your work. Another question is why don't you use the metric system? There is allot less math and it's more easier. Just sayin. 🙂
@FortressFineWoodworks
@FortressFineWoodworks Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your comment. Thank you. I was a contractor for 7 years so I've learned how to use a tape measure most accurately. When consistency is important like doors, I use stop blocks for repeat cuts. It's all about using What measuring tool When. I do know the metric system, although thanks to "good ol" USA, imperial is engrained into my workflow. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Pretty sure I am on video number six since finding your channel. I found woodworking after retiring from an Army Special Mission Unit (SMU). No longer being a team member was a very difficult transition so spending a grand on woodworking tools seemed like a logical decision. Sure, I have no earthly idea how to use said tools, but that's what KZfaq is for. Thankfully I progressed passed "pocket hole everything" quickly. I love the rhythm of your video and simplistic rationale as to "why" you are doing something. Lastly, I am impressed with comment section. I write stories on Reddit, and despite having thirty-thousand "Followers, I respond to each comment after I post. By no means am I popular, but I have developed friendships with some by simply writing "thanks." You taking the time to acknowledge people in the comments speaks volumes of your character. My shop monkey offer still stands. Happy New Year, I wish you the absolute best. VR Krap

It sounds like you know how to use said tools if you progressed passed pocketholes fairly quickly. I think pocket screws are incredibly useful anyways. If you are willing to take the time to comment, I thinks it's fair if I try my honest best to show that same appreciation.
