Been kayaking the Devils for 7 years straight! About to make another trip in a week or so. It will eat your lunch if it's flowing. Before that we used to camp as far up the river in Lake Amistad (Satans Canyon) we could go since the late 70's. Your crew did not secure their fishing gear very well and wrecked shop! That sucks because the fishing is insane on that river. Great video showing the beauty of the river, Keep it clean!

Also you helped me tremendously with my decision to buy my sportsman 120 since I love to fish fast water and you proved a fishing kayak could handle it. I noticed you switched to the sportsman 106, did you notice and pros or cons?weight , storage, maneuverability? Thanks so much!
@GatewoodBrown11 ай бұрын
Dude that is so rad! The 120 is my main steed but for this trip I had the opportunity to try a 106 and I said what the heck, let’s do it. I’d never paddled one and wanted to compare it to the 120. Overall the 120 wins between the two for kayak camping in rivers. I like the extra length that mainly makes for a longer front end. I didn’t notice much of a maneuverability improvement so all in all I like the 120. However this video shows it doesn’t really matter, either will get you to cool spots! I’m just like everyone else and enjoy paddling different kayaks to see what they’re like. The 106 is definitely easier to store though

What size (length) kayaks did y'all take? Do you feel that the size had a significant or noticeable impact on your trip?
