Hi everyone! We're back to reviewing videos of YOUR playing. Every week or so, I'll be watching videos that you submit on Reddit and Discord (links below) and giving advice and tips, or simply appreciating the talent that you've posted. I'll be posting the names of the players here in the description box once the stream is over.

Dear Ray thank you so much, I didn't believe you could choose my video, it was a fantastic emotion and I'm very grateful for all your indications, so deep in the real moods of music. It was so difficult in these difficult days, without piano accompaniment, closed in my room, to find only inside of me the real sound corresponding to the mood I wanted to convey. So thank you so much for listening, I'll think about every word you told. Take care, hope to see you soon on stage!

32:45: Music is all about emotion, about the timing and the style, like, the purpose. Every notes, every passages, rephrase has to have a purpose. You're doing things as a musician, every choices you make works to work that purpose, whatever that purpose is. So always make sure and remember that. (Do I quote him right?)

I don't like how at at 18:34 he says "You have to think about ballet dancer jumping." In this piece. If what he was trying to say like play it lighter that would be make more sense. Not saying ray is anything negative I just don't like that explanation to how you should play something as beautiful as Tchaikovsky's first concerto. Because when I play it I don't ever see or think about ballet dancers. I see and imagine a pink sunset at the edge of a mountain whilst peering off a terrace.
@Sieghardt.Saladin
@Sieghardt.Saladin Жыл бұрын
I don't think so. Ballet dancers moves smooth and elegant, just like this concerto, I agree on ray's opinion but. We all have are own opinions, there's really no right way to describe a piece. We should just enjoy and listen the interpretation as an audience.
