Extra props to the creator. This was very well done and very creative. Also I like how the mice are red and green, giving a little Christmas decor to this winter level (assuming that was intentional, since I know they're meant to take the place of the penguins, so the palette messing up could have done this).

Actually, I can imagine Press Garden Zone 2 coming after Ice Cap. They went down the mountain, and now they are in a more forest like area.

At first I thought this was official DLC. It's that good. The music in particular is incredible.

If there weren't silly copyright issues, this would have been so cool seeing how the level would have been in Mania or even Generations.

A near-perfect combination of the sliding ice mechanic from Press Garden and Ice Cap's slopes for momentum. Looks pretty damn good. The couple of parts where the sliding gets cut off by solid platforms are a momentum killer. The only suggestion I could make is making those icicle platforms breakable when you're frozen and sliding across the spikes.

I remember this zone being punishingly difficult in Sonic 3. Hard times. Happiest days of my life.

Watching this gameplay of Ice Cap Zone makes me want to buy a real SEGA Genesis console and all the Sonic cartridges on eBay.

This is a pretty cool mod. The music is on point, the level design looks pretty good, and overall they just did a really ice job.

Way past COOL, dude! Literally. With a couple elements cleverly borrowed from Sonic Mania's own ice Zone, Press Garden. And the remix is superb.

Now THIS would've been absolutely awesome to have in Mania. I feel like this and Metropolis would've been far better picks than stuff like Oil Ocean. However, copyright issues are copyright issues, and those hard times haven't quite gone by yet. Copyright issues for Ice Cap only though. I was surprised when I learned that Metropolis wouldn't be in the lineup until I saw Metallic Madness, which ended up being one of my favourites out of the game. EDIT: okay so at the time of making this comment, I was not aware that copyright wasn't the reason why. when MJ was working with SEGA on STH3, he actually stepped out of the project due to not liking how his vocals sounded on the Genesis, but he let the company still use his music. In other words, SEGA, for whatever reason, just seems to be avoiding using it.

My absolute fav level in sonic 3! I hope they make Sonic Mania 2 and ice cap zone is in it

I get that coding is long, tedious, and sometimes hard as nails, but how can you have Ice Cap Zone 1 without the Snowboarding sequence for Sonic? That's just blasphemous. Still, nice.

They should add Ice cap zone as an alternative (or secret) route in Sonic mania For example, you press a hidden switch (in flying battery) that makes the gliders head to Ice Cap zone.

I like ice cap Zone that's one of my favorites from Sonic 3 & Sonic 3 & Knuckles but that was based off up press garden however I would like to see Act 2 ice cap Zone however even though it's just only a mod I would like to see the original for Sonic Mania 2 far as the ice cap Zone soundtrack it sound so smoothly

This is why I like Sonic Mania. They remastered old-school zones with adding modern 2D graphics, remixing music of these zones and changing their route carefully. But... That was a mistake to not to include this zone in game.
