RC6GS Update with R7FG Receiver to get Battery Telemetry

This update is simple and worth it!!! I can see battery voltage to to 6s right on the transmitter!! Of course it has to have the R7FG receiver to do this but its awesome!!

Download the MAC file to computer, connect radio and format it, yes it will say it wil lerase everything, do it. Then simply click and drag the file you downloaded into the box for the radio that is there and you're done.

I took my Mojave in to the local hobby shop to Install and program, they told me the telemetry would only work with 4S or under, I didn't say anything because he did it for free but I haven't had a chance to try it out. I have a feeling I'm going to have to do it myself I'm just not very good with computers. But thank you for breaking it down for us and I bought the RC6GS v2 It seem to offer a lot of features at a reasonable price compared to a Spectrum transmitter that could receive telemetry. I'm going to give it a go. I owned real Jeeps and I think I real could get into the crawlers.Very cool!

Still helping people a year later with this video. Thank you. 😊 The firmware flash wasn't as much an issue as the alarm going off on a freshly charged 2S LiPo. 😂

Ah. I thought I was the only one. Did you ever figure it out? I ended up giving up, tried adjusting the alarm settings but same story with the the alarm going off on a full charge.

I know you a big fan of radiolink RC6GS V2. I just seen a video you might not be aware of but that radio has a feature that mimics the Traxxas Drag slash trans brake, he explain it then demonstrated it at 30% throttle then full throttle, works on any rc using that transmitter. I just Google how to make an rc trans brake and it was the first video. I haven't tried it myself yet but all the things that transmitter can do I'm not surprised but it's nice to know.

To bad I just got a new flysky. I thought that's wat u used. On your gen 8 is the transmission stock I know u have a HH motor in it. And wat pinion and spur do u run? I just ordered a gen 8 builders kit. Well the assembled builders kit. I have the 21t HH trail master sport going in it and a 1080 esc

New combo on Amazon with 7 ch rx. So I assume new radio is updated, need a new radio for my old savage and optima.

Btw when at the top of the menu on the RC6GS just hit the - button to right to the end of the menu list!

I put this remote on my SCX10 III and when i turn the steering all the way to the left or right the remote starts beeping and the screen reads "EXT Low Power!!" Any clue??

EXT Low Power means vehicle power is low,just enter your menu of ALARM to set the correct EXT value.

6S is what it’s rated for. I have by accident connected 8s to mine and it read correctly, but you can bet they won’t warranty it. LoL.

If the lipo alarm can go to up to such a high voltage, is there any reason it can't work for 8s?

@@316RC I doubt that, it's not being powered by it, just monitoring it. Receivers don't have a lipo limit as they get their power through the esc

I have both, it's a mixed bag. The Radiolink is way more versatile and can do allot more after doing an update to the transmitter. The flip side is the build quality of the tx. The gt5 is way more limited in configurability but the transmitter is way nicer. The feel is better, the size is better, and the quality of the plastic is WAY better on the GT5. The Radiolink is a bit big and awkward and the plastic is very cheap and brittle. I'm really hoping Radiolink will put these internals in an upgraded tx housing soon. If they did, I'd probably convert my whole fleet over.

up to 6s, although I can't recommend it, I have had it accurately read 8s and no smoke..

no smoke from the receiver, esc doesn't care since the receiver telemetry power input is straight from the battery

correct, the radio transmitter is rated to 4s so you could put a small 4s in there if you can find one that would fit.

is Overkill still around? I got my first hacked B from him along with the hack kit I still use, I don't mess with B's anymore due to a protection they come with. I can disable it but I just don't mess with them anymore. Also I doubt my hack kit is around anymore, whats the new method of hacking?
