Re-Creating Chicken Flautas, & Family Campfire with 2 New Family Members!

Today's recreation recipe of chicken flautas is so easy that I feel silly listing a recipe, and really, there weren't many measurements, so I'll list them the best I can.
flautas beging at7:07
2 chicken breasts cooked and shredded
bacon pieces
Seasonings of choice
white american cheese (I used 10 slices)
Tortillas
oil for frying
Assemble per video instructions

Pro tip: "Tortilla glue" is a great way to seal your tortilla up before frying them. Flour and water paste brushed at the seam. Wait at least a few minutes before frying.

Hey Les. White American cheese is in the deli section. In Walmart it is made by Land o Lakes. The BEST white American is made my Boars Head. That is all I buy. I love it.

As some one who grew up with authentic Mexican food. I would recommend baking the meat. It has a richer flavor. I also would use Mexican cheese

You can also get the white American cheese at the deli. Slightly different (firmer) texture and you can have them cut it off in blocks big enough to shred

Hi Leslie-You can purchase white American in the deli-I just tell them to cut me a chunk about a pound and they weigh it and then guesstimate it. This way I can grate it myself. Looks delicious!!!

Mrs. Leslie I just had to jump on here and say that I made these tonight for my wife and I. They were delicious! I fried them in coconut oil. It gave them a great extra bit of flavor. I agree with PB this recipe is restaurant good!

Oh my gosh...what cute little curly-Q puppies! Our sweet pup passed away last month and the house has been empty without him. I made the flout-as today and they were delicious. My husband loved them. I couldn’t find white American cheese at my local Food Lion in Mt Holly, NC, so I used the Mexican cheese mix. They were wonderful. We dipped in honey mustard or sour cream or guacamole. So, so, good. Thanks so much for this recipe. We served with Mexican rice, chips and salsa. Will be added to our rotation.

Leslie, loved those pups and the campfire song. The flautas reminded me of our chimichangas at my favorite Mexican restaurant here in Tucson , which is El Molinito. They give you the option of guacamole, sour cream, or enchilada sauce or all 3. I usually eat mine naked with rice and beans. It's nice to see Mexican food from another side of the country. By the way if your tortillas get a little dry you can put them in the microwave with a damp paper towel for 30 seconds or less and they will be warm, moist, and easier to roll.
