@@TKommandant Yeah, that's Europe for ya ;) I do believe the certification business involves a lot of money in the Netherlands, we could probably do with less training. On the other hand, I've seen beginners who still were incredibly scared to operate the thing after the first 8 hours of training, so it's not always bad to get it thorough.

Hi, i'm Japanese and work as a forklift operator in an instant-noodles manufacturing factory here in Japan. I'm a foreigner, but let me leave a comment. I 've watched your video because it came up in my recommended. This video is really instructive and your explanation is easy to understand. Thanks to you, I've learned a lot of things in this video, especially how to operate a reach truck in your country. That is because positions of steering wheel and levers for moving forks are completely different from those in Japan.There is no reach trucks here that you can operate while sitting down. Also, in my country, operators don't have to use safety eye protection, but instead Japan's safety rules stipulate that they have to wear a helmet whenever driving a forklift. I've found it interesting to learn differences in ways of operating a machine between your country and ours.Thank you so much for reading my lengthy comment in limited English.

I work for Amazon and I was trained on Crown reach truck 6 months ago and I love it! It is fun to be on! Don't let your fear get to you. It will be just like riding a bike after awhile and you will feel like a king because it is the "king" of all warehouse equipment. U got to respect it and it will respect u like the trainer here mentions. Great video! 👍

You must work for non-inventory because that’s the only place they used it where I worked. In receive dock I operated the stand up non reach version, also order picker and a huge one called a turret that had two batteries. We never operated pit equipment manually in the racks, everything is all guide wires, line up, hit the button and off you go. I had just about every license in my FC except the reach because I never worked in non-inventory.
@tonyc4269
@tonyc4269 3 жыл бұрын
@@mrsantana9094 I work outbound and not only do I do non-inventory but HOV and team lift which is the basic pallet picking off the racks on reach truck. I am also on the order picker. We have VNA'S (Very Narrow Aisles) that take up about a quarter of the building and they are self guided. You must of been working in a different sort Amazon building that was nothing but VNA'S because I heard at one time Amazon was thinking about all VNA'S in most buildings.. That is interesting.

I don't understand why the steering is inverted why not just have normal steering it makes no sense and would actually make alot of people feel more comfortable that way.... I drive jungheinrich reach trucks they're sit down ones also and there steering isn't inverted and it's amazing :3

@5stargoon665
@5stargoon665 7 ай бұрын
@@benharpin3089If the guy in the video would have done a better job explaining it, it would make sense to you. So essentially the steering is NOT inverted if you are driving it forks first. If you turn your hand to the left, it goes left forks first, right and the truck turns right. When driving truck first instead, the reason it is "inverted" is because you are technically traveling backwards. Logically there is no way for the truck to always move one way without the reverse happening. So if the steering was not "Inverted", when driving forks first right would be left and left would be right

I have operated both Raymond and Crown reach trucks. These are no joke. I still operate the Raymond and I am an older guy. The Crown is superior to the Raymond in my opinion from an ergonomic viewpoint. Just concentrate on operating safely. Operate safely guys and gals. It is very easy to lose control of these forklift trucks if you become complacent or worse, cocky. A reach truck can very quickly give you a lesson in humility at the very least if you fall into the aforementioned category. Be safe.

I'm still trying to get around the whole inverted steering. I wish there was a more accurate indicator to every angle like a compass dial. At my place of work, we have to navigate narrow corners and corridors of racks. It's easy to lose your last perceived angle on your wheels causing you to know it by touch and feel. Operating these things slow and steady is the sure way to go.

Raymond you just need a thumb to go up and down. This machine could hurt the operators shoulder over time.

Muscle memory kicks in and its nothing, second nature almost. I love my job, work at Americold driving the Monolift RMseries in -15°f to -30°f Freezer. These crown trucks are smooth as shit.

Mono masts have huge blind spots. Hate them, prefer double masts

Most places say they want you to be safe. But they are on you to make production numbers

That orange lever is to raise the whole seat and backrest, not just flip the seat up. The seat flips up just by pulling the seat up and to put the seat down there is a yellow lever under the center front of the seat you pull out and lift slightly on the seat then let the seat down. Pushing down on the orange lever unlocks the seat and backrest to then raise or lower to operator's desired position. I drive a similar model from crown 12 to 14 hours a day every day for over 5 years now.
