Scream 4 was ahead of it's time. Back in 2011 to a mass audience it was implausible but today it gets a lot more credit. I took my cousin to see it but after torture porn like saw & final destination it had desensitised many. Jill's reasoning for killing is the most frighteningly plausible out of any Ghostface to this point

A lot of ppl love this one the most. It was definitely a reflection of this generation and todays society of how desperate folks are to rise to fame. They nailed it 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Major props for those edits! I know that takes a LOT OF TIME 13:08 - Sid and Dewey - he's like her surrogate older brother. She even says so in Scream 2. His real lil sis (Tatum) died in the garage. So, I think the look was Sid realizing that Dewey and Gale's marriage was worse than he's telling her, which is very true in this movie. I think Sid felt bad for them, nothing more. Ironically, Dewey pushes Gale away now that he's the sheriff. I love you, Dewey, but Gale is the brains. Let's be real. I know I'm in the minority... but I've always liked Gale. Yes, she's mean af, but try and think of a moment when she was wrong about something. It's hard, right?! Her character has depth. She's also strong and one hell of a fighter. Kicking Ghostface and rolling away was the right move. I respect that. We all know Dewey can't shoot his gun for shit. He also yells "freeze" while his wife is about to get stabbed or killed. WTF Dewey??! Also, if it wasn't for Gale pretending to be "knocked out" in Scream 96, Sid would be dead. Gale was still conscious, bc after she shot Billy she says, "Guess I remembered the safety that time you bastard". Billy said that while she was lying on the ground. Then she shot Billy just in the nick of time. Gale was also right about Cotton. He was framed... if you really examine her character, she does care, she is smart, and she does figure shit out. So, she's my "final girl," less so than Sid, but Gale's a baddass. (Sorry for the book I wrote, I'm just a Gale mega-fan. Without Gale, there wouldn't be a Scream franchise... or at the very least, it wouldn't be as interesting)

Scream 4 had a lot of interference from the studio. In the OG draft script the film ends at the house on a cliffhanger with someone yelling "we got a live one here.." * Fade to black * This would lead to Sidney dying & Jill surviving in the 5th film seemingly getting away with it only for Jill to then be targeted by a new Ghostface 😮

If it weren’t for the opening and the weird tonal shifts, this would be my third favorite. I know a lot of people think that this series overall is solid, but it’s really starting to look like the A Nightmare On Elm Street series, were the first two are scary and more serious, then it starts to take itself less serious after the 3rd one.

as an englishman from london I can confirm that we do have quite a lot of stabbings, most of which are gang related, I think it's died down a bit the last couple of years though.

The only thing that I didn't really like about four is the f****** intro all the fake outs with the stabs 😩 but I will say 5 and 6 or also really really good but a couple of key new people in the series quit or were fired for number seven. So I don't know what the f*** they're going to do. They're probably going to have to kiss ass heavily with Neve Campbell to get a 7 to even happen now
