The OG Friday the 13th is boring I nearly fell asleep when I watched it literally nothing happens in this movie. It had some decent kills don’t get me wrong but most of the movie was just either characters talking or playing Monopoly or that, or it was just flat out Corn with a P Jason is barely even in the movie which is really disappointing because I kept on hearing that Friday the 13th is one of the best slashers and I thought it was going to be that but no Instead, it was a bore fest. (hot take 2). Texas chainsaw massacre is not scary at all I didn’t like any of the characters Except for Franklin who they did dirty in this movie and the remaining survivor Sally is one of the most dumbest horror protagonists I’ve ever seen and leather faces and even scary just goofy and honestly if someone asked me, what would you do if you were in Texas chainsaw massacre I would easily say I would not go into leather face’s house dead easy I am preacher a 3 year old would survive Texas chainsaw, massacre and overall the movie was boring too the kills, were OK but it was also kind of disappointing too especially because Texas chainsaw massacre is a classic horror movie

I think that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake is better than the original, because while the original definitely has much more of an incomparable feal because it's so cheaply made, i believe the remake does capture that slimy feel even better, also the cinematography is pretty good at creating that atmosphere. In addition they made leatherface even scarier than the original, R. Lee Ermy might be the most terrifying character in the film. Finally i find the group of characters much more likeable than the original witch were just annoying, whereas in the remake the maybe cliche but they are put in a more venerable placement and it has somewhat of an impact when they die or when she defits the villans

Scream being the most consistent franchise isnt really a hot take tbh. The only things that could come close to rivaling it are evil dead or child's play but even they have their weak links

@@adamcade604it's not a fact. If production companies didn't taint productions and force halloween 2 to happen, halloween 2 season of the witch would have had better reception.

Hot take: Halloween Kills is actually overhated. I understand some of the characters were bad but at least we got Michael actually being in the film. It’s better than Halloween Ends.

For Halloween sequels, I would probably recommend at least watching Season of the Witch and H20. For Nightmare on Elm Street, at least watch Dream Warriors. Friday the 13th is pretty campy pretty much the whole series, but peak is definitely Part 4 and 6, both Freddy Vs Jason and Jason X are fun, but more comedy based horror elements

In my opinion, i know we agree, the original Friday the 13th is terrible boring and overated as hell and it's even on the middle of my ranking of the franchise. I find parts 2,3,4,6 and the remake not only better films, not a high bar to begin with, but more entertaining and Jason is a badass

1. Halloween Ends is a well made movie. It has great acting, an amazing score, beautiful cinematography, and well directed. It’s not better than the original but it’s definitely one of the better sequels and goes back to the concept of the original, Evil lurking on Halloween while continuing the themes from the previous two installments, succumbing to your inner darkness or not give in, move on, and find healing 2. Scream VI as a slasher film it’s good but as a Scream film it’s pretty mid for focusing more on set pieces than quality writing with illogical moments, rehashing Scream 2, lack of stakes, and no new commentary on the horror genre. It didn’t move the narrative forward and it can be easily erased and wouldn’t affect the franchise. IMO, it’s the weakest of the franchise 3. The original Exorcist is the most overrated horror film ever. It’s way too slow and not at all even frightening for a second 4. Nope > Get Out > Us 5. Talk to Me was good but incredibly overhyped and not a movie I’d rewatch again

You gotta check out the other Child’s Play / Chucky movies. The later movies are completely different and lean into dark comedy. Worth watching at least once.

Hot take: Scream 6 was bad. One of the worst scripts in the series, cheesy dialogue, and a REALLY lame ghost face reveal. I honestly felt like Melissa Barrera wasn’t great in this one. She’s an awesome actress and she proves that with In the Heights, but she just wasn’t good in this one. I’m super glad that everyone else loved it, but I just can’t relate. Im really sad about that because I love the scream franchise.

The first Halloween is my favorite horror movie oat because it introduced me to the genre and means so much to me and Michael is the face of horror. I understand that it's objectively pretty alright and average but I just love it to death. Also it has the most iconic score of any horror movie

Halloween (2018) > Halloween (1978) Scream VI is the best sequel of the franchise Evil Dead (2013) is the best of the franchise The Exorcist is good, but I don’t fully get the hype Wolf Creek 2 is one of the great horror sequels An American Werewolf in London, Barbarian, and Last Night in Soho are very overrated and I don’t get the praise as they have many flaws for me

Exorcist came out in 1973 so for that time period nothing like that had really been done before. It certainly hasn’t aged as well but it’s a film I respect.

I don’t think that the Saw films are super scary. They’re just gross for the sake of being gross. The first Saw film is really good. The rest of them just get more gross and disgusting as the films go on.
