One of the GOATs of rock guitar. His first album (after the Yardbirds) in 1969 The Jeff Beck Group, “TRUTH” was amazing (with Rod Stewart as his vocalist).

@@sixslinger9951 Unfortunately its not just reactors, I know hardcore zeppelin fans who have never listened to a single song by him lmao which is ironic considering Jeff was instrumental in Jimmy Pages developing style. Just listen to Jeff Beck Group - Truth (1968), came out a year before LZ's debut album and you can hear so much of where Jimmy Page got his style. But hey as long as people like us who appreciate his music are here nothing else matters! RIP to the maestro

You're perfectly right about the way everything is done to catch all that the musicians do : the album (like the next one) was produced by George Martin, former producer of the Beatles (his nickname was "the fifth beatle"). When you have great musicians like these ones, you need to render every detail. They deserve it.

This album was produced by George Martin. Quite a departure from the Beatles to jazz fusion. Milestone album for Jeff. Together with School Days by Stanley Clarke, it was my gateway to jazz.

George Martin produced this album. He had previously produced The Beatles but had also produced the Mahavishnu Orchestra which is why Jeff requested him. I loved growing up in the 70's getting to hear all this stuff when it was new.

A Top 5 All Time guitarist and super musical talent showing his new direction on that incredible album. For a good look at this legend see his signature tune, Beck's Bolero at his Rock n Roll HoF Induction ceremony, he has Jimmy Page come up and they do a snarling bit of Immigrant Song in the middle. The video is amazing, well worth searching for. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

A few things to consider when you go back to listen to this or anything else on the album...the side-to-side thing in your headphones is the Fender Rhodes 73 key piano as played through the Rhodes amp. It does that oscillation left and right that is so interesting. This is being played by one of the absolute freakin' MASTERS of the Rhodes, Max Middleton. His fills and bridges are just brilliant!! Just an awesome touch. Notice too, the time signature changes and the para, triple and quad-diddles the drummer is throwing...absolutely stupid talent!! I'm glad you kids enjoyed this old school jam from back in my day. One last thing: it's called "Freeway Jam" for a reason. If you play this in the car, there is NO WAY you can possibly drive fast enough to groove with the tune. I know, I've tried it. The last song on this record was written by Stevie Wonder. It's called, "Because we ended as lovers". It is a bit slower and heartfelt and features an orchestra in the background, but the strong emotions that Jeff was able to bring out of his guitar are just jaw-dropping. You can hear the sorrow and pain...I dare you not to tear-up just a little bit. Give it a try sometime. It's beautiful!

I’ve loved the“Wired” album since I bought it many years ago (on cassette tape). But I’ve always loved “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers”, “Blue Wind”, “Led Boots”, “Beck’s Bolero”, “Shapes Of Things” “I Ain’t Suspicious”, and “Greensleeves” as among my favorites all time. Jeff’s version of “Greensleeves” may be the most beautiful piece of music in recorded history.

Some consider his Wired and Blow By Blow records to be standards in the fusion genre. ANYTHING from those two records is absolutely amazing! Grew up with this music in the 70's and IT NEVER GETS OLD, I'm just more amazed each time I listen to it bc I discover new bits and peices I didn't hear before........ so, so much going on in these tracks. RIP Jeff Beck and thank you for the music you left us.

I was a teen in the 70s also & saw Jeff in concert two times...When you grow up om this quality of music it makes it very hard to find great new music. In the last 30 years I didn't find much & had pretty much given up and just listened to 'my' time tested stuff. In the last few years my interest has been reignited after hearing-seeing my first Tom song & finding all of the bearded rappers. 🎤🎧🎶

I'm excited about the R&R Hall Of Fame performance with a short appearance with Jimmy Page 2009: Bolero+Immigrant Song, and at the end 8 VIP Guitarists+ Metallica with Train Kept A Rollin', really R%R epic.
