A review from the heart, as someone else said. Angelina's music gives me peace too, and a feeling of warm intimacy and kindness. She sings from the heart, so it touches ours. I believe Republic Records will treat Angelina as the special being she is. It's lovely to hear rob Christie's masterful and sensitive piano accompaniments to Angelina. It's a great collab.

Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced. I don’t just hear and see Angelina but I feel the song. I think she brings out the best in a song. I’m living with a lot of pain and can’t sleep, I put on my headphones listen to Angelina and it takes me to a different place and gets me through some of the worst. I’ve enjoyed your reactions and I think we have a similar connection to Angelina in how her singing makes us feel.

My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

Awesome review Nate, thank you so much... I think Angelina is an empath. See? She is too young to have lived long enough to know how it feels whatever the lyrics express... But she takes the time to put herself in that situation and feels it and projects that feeling to us all. People talk about her vocal techniques and so on, but she sings right now just as when she was 7 years old... Of course she is more polished nowadays, but she keeps being the same Angelina. The music is in her ... She was born with this gift and I personally take it as a gift from God to us, so we know how things really are in heaven. So I thank God for Angelina.

In the beginning credits it shows that Mery Zamani is the executive producer. Mery is Angelina’s grandma and her greatest creative influence. This production and performance was the Queen paying homage to the King. Everything from Angelina’s wearing a full body leather out fit and the red guitar represent what Elvis wore and used in his 1968 Come-Back Special. Her bee hive hair style is the same style that Elvis’ wife, Priscilla wore at that time.

What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE, Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. (Nate, I realize you are aware of everything stated here, this is for those who want to learn more about this very special being, Angelina Jordan.)

I’m sure you noticed that her grandmother Mery Zamani was executive producer on this video. A great honor to her artist grandmother, who is responsible for Angelina being exposed to all the great zazz performers. This is a video or two before Angela went professional. The added photography of her two cousins and then her sister, to me represented Angelina growing from that 7-year old cute little kid to a now grown up 16-year old.

The Hagstrom Red Guitar used in this video is a modern up to date copy of the one Elvis used in 1968. The Hagstrom Red Guitar belonged to musician Al Casey, a member of Elvis’ backing band during the special in 1968. According to an accompanying letter from Casey, he was asked to let Elvis use the guitar by the producers, as they "thought it would look beautiful on camera and with the set." Elvis Presley’s 1942 Martin D-18 acoustic guitar may have recently sold for $1.32 million, but fear not - another of the King’s axes, this one his cherry-red Hagstrom Viking II electric guitar, famous for its use in the legendary '68 Comeback Special, is hitting the block. The semi hollow instrument is a highlight of Kruse GWS Auctions’ Artifacts of Hollywood & Music auction, which begins on March 27. It's being offered with a starting bid of $250,000. By Matt Owen published March 31, 2021. Now, it has been confirmed that the legendary semi-hollow has been sold for a whopping $625,000, with the proud new owner of the lot managing to outbid six other plucky bidders to get their hands on the prized piece of music memorabilia.

Probably too late? In less than 1 mo, Over 1 million KZfaq views since June 22, 2022❗️ Angelina starts off with the bridge, completely different than anyone else; and then, begins with the opening line of the song. Her Beehive hairdo is an homage to Priscilla…Many photographs of her hair, exactly like that. And a Leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is the Elvis‘s 1968 “Comeback” Guitar! Rob Christe actually owns this. The two young children are her cousins, her Uncle Michael’s children, the older girl is her sister Juliette. She even had a framed photo of Elvis, at this location. Rob Christie on piano ok.🌺

Rob Christie Playing Piano: That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.

There is a new young lady in the music realm, her name is Sarah James. So far she only has two songs on KZfaq: 1. Her audition on AGT is a cover of Billie Eilish’s Lovely - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fsCSYNGq0pmsmHU.html 2. The second song is a cover of Elton John’s Rocket Man - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pLSEeNicqMfIfGQ.html I am a long-time Angelina Jordan fan but I believe that Sarah James has the potential to be as good as Angelina. Suspicious Minds is absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. If you haven’t already reacted her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n75gmpxqz7SWZok.html 🙂

Nate, this video confirms that with the simple act of having Angelina standing in one place and being accompanied by a single musical instrument is all we listeners and fans need to become wholly consumed in the wonderful experience of listening to Angelina sing. Angelina’s talent is so extraordinary that there is no reason, justification or need to surround her with an over the top production. IMO, it would be an insult to Angelina’s integrity and talent to place her in a ridiculously unnecessary and over blown production.

Nate, according to Mark James, the original writer of this song, he was not pleased with Elvis’ uptempo and pop sounding arrangement. Mark felt that Elvis’ arrangement wasn’t what he had in mind as it relates to the message his lyrics were meant to convey. It seems to me that Angelina was aware of Mark’s comment. Therefore, between she and pianist, Rob Christie they arranged the song according to what Mark wanted his song to sound like. Rob wrote the musical arrangement and Angelina created the vocal arrangement and together they honored Mark’s wish.

Nate, it's a moment when your heart takes over. The emotional connection all of us have with Angelina is overwhelming. She is a force, a beautiful force with the strength of a white horse galloping down a country path and never seeming to tire. We watch her and listen to her in total awe and one of our greatest desires is that every human being on the planet gets the opportunity to hear her sing. We understand it's more than her voice. Her soulfulness deep within her translates into love when she sings and our hearts cannot resist. And when we discover what a wonderful person she is, so humble, kind, caring and loving we love her with all our heart in return. Knowing Angelina for a period of time begins to influence who we are as individuals and we become nicer people. We may not recognize the changes taking place but people around us do and they have concluded it's because of Angelina. For older folks wondering what lies ahead for them, unaware of how much time they have left and what to do, if they have discovered Angelina she has brought them purpose to their lives to share love with her and to introduce her to people in their walk of life. For the young, exciting, experimenting and impatient generation, discovering Angelina and finding out who she is something which will occur but the timing must be just right. When they slow down for a bit and are emotionally vulnerable and they hear her sing their heart will take over and they will "feel the light". Her humanitarian efforts will attract today's youth and they will eagerly want to "jump aboard" and become part of her growing family. Nate, always nice to see you and hear from you.

"I want to".... Then do so as long as that remains true, regardless of how successful it is. We need the help, regardless of our inability to receive it. What we want is no politics, and here we are, yikes, we've really drawn our lines in the sand now, we've forgotten understanding and concession. Kinda relates to the song Hahaha. Air it out. You have that pulling at you, if you don't try you have a whole nother problem. With yourself. "start to die inside when we remain silent about things important to us', 'die having never really lived', etc. The whole world could absolutely hide and call it humility, when everything that ever mattered needs us to try. Most importantly, you can try your best and you could stop once satisfied with your effort, or if unhappy with your mental state or even your own intentions.

Welcome back, Nate! Congratulations on your engagement, and thank you for another very thoughtful reaction to Angelina. The song was written by Mark James. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).

Beautiful reaction Nate. As you say, a very mature rendition of this song. The emotional impact starting with the very first note! A well produced and directed video, Angelina ready to take off big time. The only way to improve on this is to see her perform live - I was at her concert in Norway July 10th 2022, this song was part of the three song encore. The audience didn't want her to leave the stage - neither did she. It was a very emotional time, before she started to sing tears were running down her face - what she calls happy tears - she wiped away those tears as she started to sing - incidentally fitting in with the lyrics. The impact of that concert will hopefully keep me going until I can be at her next one...

Welcome back, Nate. It’s good to hear your thoughts again. I agree that sometimes silence seems to be the appropriate reaction to Angelina. There’s no need to try to explain the beauty we hear. She not only re-imagines the Elvis lyrics, but she also interprets them to give the song a different meaning. Elvis wants the suspicion to stop. Angelina makes us understand that she is sadly resigned to that suspicion as part of the relationship. We again hear Angelina as an exceptional storyteller giving this song a very mature re-interpretation. Beautiful musically, artistically, vocally, and visually…

Absolutely amazing performance from a musical genius, Cover of a Cover the original artist who wrote and performed this song didn’t achieve with his version, then Elvis covered the song and it was a hit, the first two little girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins her managers children, the eldest girl is Angelina’s sister Juliette, production input from Angelina’s Grandma who is a talented artist, love how Angelina pays tribute to Elvis with her black outfit and red guitar 🎸 and Pricilla Presley hair style, great reaction thanks 🙏

Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. ♥👣👸🏻🎷

Hello, Nate. Great to see you again 🙂 And congratulations on your engagement, too! You must be a very happy man♥ Thank you very much for an absolutely amazing reaction to our barefoot Angel. I saw right away how this perormance hit you, like it did and does to most of us. The big difference is just the way you are able to speak about your experience; the emotions she evokes in you. What you said is VERY relatable. I ofc can only speak for myself, but I strongly believe that these emotions that you describe are very relatable for most, if not all of her fans. You really have your way with words, I have to give you that😉 A rather nice trait to have when you venture into the reactions business, but one that is somewhat lacking, at least when it comes to describing Angelina and her abilities. I somehow feel that the reactors that talk the most afterwards, at the same time are the ones that seemingly lack the ability to connect to her on a spritual level. I don't even know if that sentence made any sense, as it's just a feeling. The ones who DO connect, often times are too shaken to get any sensible words out😂 But not you👍Your ability to talk about these things really stand out to me, and considering your diagnosis (sorry for bringing it into the equation, but I think it makes a difference), it just hits different with me. You are a very special man, and I'm sure your fiancée agrees🙂You are a lucky man, and she is a lucky woman. As to your idea of making videos with different topics, I just have to say that I'm all here for it! That would be super interesting I think, and probably a good way of exchanging and broadening my own views on those topics. I could easily listen to your reactions to Angelina on a daily basis, but I would never ask you to do that. When you finally DO react to her, I guess I appreciate it all the more somehow. And that way both you, I and the rest of the viewers can be sure that we get the Nate that we all love and respect so much🙂 Have a great weekend, my friend, and please say hello to your wonderful fiancée as well. I would love to see her react with you again at some point. Much love and respect from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

Nate, congratulations on such a deeply heartfelt reaction to Angelina. My first reaction to the first verse (the original bridge) was to feel my heart crushed by the first line and then comforted by the rest of the verse and the song. For some reason, it had by far the most emotional effect on me of any song I've ever heard. 🙏

Hey there Nate, great reaction and cheers to Shannon. Angelina is a brilliant mind with a big heart. The fact that she can tap into these lyrics and interpret them as if she experienced it is a gift. She loves her sister so much that in one of her original songs, " What Is Life ", she says that her sister is the love of her life. This song was the first time I actually can hear the mindset of a 10 y/o when she started writing it, finished at 11 and sang an acoustic version at 12. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eNxgpZposLSbgnU.html

I'm Glad it's because of Good things happening in your life! You definitely picked a good song to return to Reactionland! Hi, Nate! Great to see you back on the train. Glad that life is doing right by you. It's difficult to find the words that can truly express what she does to us. Your immediate response to that first note has been fairly common: eyes widen, head moves back, then often a little head shake of both unbelievability and expected emotionality. Of course-- it's Angelina. As Gitana (another reactor, if you don't watch reactions) once said...it's like she flings a piece of her soul at you ...and we often react physically to its impact. Good stuff here. Always enjoy a bit of Nate being Nate. Cheers!
