Those were the days! It was always great to watch his speeches, as we felt that we had a real leader. A lot of people hated him, but I loved him. First Republican that I ever voted for. Check out the youtube video of Reagan introducing Jayne Mansfield back before he was President! Also recall that Ronnie admonished Interior Secretary James Watt who had banned the Beach Boys from a July 4th concert in DC.

The Americans had been preparing a super spy for a very long time to send him to Russia. His legend was worked out just brilliantly. They spent $ 10 million on training, he perfectly mastered dialect of the region where he was supposed to work. And now, on a dark night he was thrown from a plane in a dense forest. The spy landed, buried a parachute and began to make his way to the nearest village. Early in the morning he’s in ear-flapped hat, a tattered "vatnik"-jacket, with bottle of moonshine in his pocket, with a three-day stubble, puffing "Belomor" he went to the village and knocked in the hut. An old grandmother came to on knock. - Mother, please give me some water to drink. - But you.... son, you isn't SPY ? - And why did you, mother, decide so? - But, we at home here, in the country near Ryazan, aaa, didn't see blacks never in our’s life ......

One of the few areas where Reaganomists claim success without embarrassment is taxation. In the first place, the famous "tax cut" of 1981 did not cut taxes at all. It's true that tax rates for higher-income brackets were cut; but for the average person, taxes rose, rather than declined. The reason is that, on the whole, the cut in income tax rates was more than offset by two forms of tax increase.

The New Party, formed by members of the Democratic Socialists for America and leaders of an offshoot of the Community Party USA, was an electoral alliance that worked alongside the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. The New Party’s aim was to help elect politicians to office who espouse its policies.

MrFamous, see my comment above. You missed a lot, but it's good that you appreciate what you missed. As good as the jokes are, Reagan had a great empathy for those who were oppressed, and hated the tyranny of communism because of how it held people down in the name of "equality." (Yes, all are equal... in poverty... except, of course, the exalted bureaucrats.) Intelligent young people like you are the key to America's future. It's now up to you and me to help keep Reagan's spirit alive.

It's ashame you weren't. He was a strong, yet humble leader who had a great appreciation for the the average, hard working American. He loved our country and respected people's desire to be free to determine their own course in life. Rather than using government to aggrandize himself or to buy the loyalties of voters, he limited government to get it out of our lives. Less government equalled more liberty, a better economy and more opportunity for all. Mr. President, you're loved and missed.

1: When most citizens are armed, as they were in the Wild West, crime doesn’t cease. The criminals get better. 2: Obamacare: the average American has a lot to gain and little to lose, while those making more, including larger firms and consequently their employees, may notice negative financial effects. However, all Americans will benefit from the additional protections and rights in regards to their healthcare.

@ToaJoe Reagan was not stupid and all of those things that I claimed Reagan did - were planned and they happened - according to his plan. The Soviet Union was at it's absolute peak of power and influence as Reagan came into office and would have enslaved millions of more people had not someone stood up to them. All the international statistics show that counties with fewer guns and strict controls have far fewer gun related homicides. It is common sense that lethal weapons are lethal . Less availability will save lives. The number of deaths per year in the United States exceeds 10,000. This is the highest number of gun-related deaths in the world. Gun control would drastically change those figures even if it was just increasing background checks and banning additional assault attachments. I
