Congratulations Jeff! She's a black beauty for sure! And thrilled she's heading east to Ohio (we are in SW PA) to liven up the gene pool. That filly might make for a sweet pairing with Turk too ... even though Turk doesn't look all black (am I wrong or is Turk wearing spiffy and flashy white spats?)

The sorrel filly is gorgeous. I have a city girl question... Dry mares. Are they considered dry if they didn't get pregnant or if they aborted or if the foal didn't survive or all the above. And how do you know if which of those scenarios happened? Thanks

I almost addressed this question in the video but just assumed everyone knew, next time I’ll give more info… a dry mare is one that isn’t lactating at the moment- can be bred or not

These three should be bred but don’t have foals on them because we’ve weaned them already

@@PaintedDesertRanch OK ... I thought they were mares that had not successfully bred that year and were sorted out after foaling season. But "not currently feeding a foal" works.
