Understanding the do's and don't's of a procedure is half the battle. When someone takes the time to create such a detailed video everyone benefits from it. Tremendous video and narrated perfectly. Thank you!

Thank You for explain everything, I'm going to replace my suspension, I don't have the tool for the Ball Joint, so I'm going to do it manually with a hammer, jack and peace of conduit and of course a lot of time :D the purpose of all this is to save money and do some work, I love to do some service on my cars, clean everything and verify the job.

Excellent vid! Informative and great camera work and no stupid music overpowering the instructor! Well done. You young punks with loud music and jerky camera work should pay attention to this fellow! And shut up!

Excellent! Wouldn't it be worth swapping out the outer tie rod end just for good measure since your already at this point?

question, is there a way to get the lower ball joint out without an air hammer? I've been helping out my buddy that dont know alot about shanging front end parts. I could an air hammer at the shop I work at but its a bit of a money issue for him, I replaced the upper ball joint in my yard and replaced his front cv shaft, I used the tricks with a chain and jack to pop out all the joints to save all the rubber bushings but just to find out that the outer tie rod end and lower ball joint was worn anyways. I mean if a small piece of pipe and a three pound hammer would work that'll be awesome, even if it'll take time. I just dont want to go pounding on something and it dont work and have his pickup towed to a shop. its a 97 Dakota. im a mechanic during the week and a backyard mechanic on the weekends. lol

that ball joint press kit is nice, but no size for an old crappy buick rainier. it was either too big or too small.
