Can you please make a video for 2jz GE and what are the difference on building them. Things you could get away with when building a 2jz GE. Things of that sort. :)

They follow the same principals. Just use GE specific headgasket thicknesses. Since the compression chamber is recessed .030" to provide optimal squish at a thinner specific compressed gasket height .010" vs .050" for GTE heads.

You can use a thicker head gasket to lower your compression ratio to 9.5 or 8.5 like GTEs. Also can be done with the pistons or head work. Weaker rods and no oil squirters is the only other difference in the block, heads and cams are different. So if you have an NA and want to turbo it, get new rods and a thicker head gasket or if you're really feeling fancy some pistons.
@CP110
@CP110 2 жыл бұрын
@@shadow105720 you should change it by using GTE pistons cause squish is negatively affected when you just use a thicker head gasket (when keeping the GE head). if ur gonna swap to GTE head you are forced to use a thicker gasket.

Another banger video jay🔥🔥 Quick question Jay if you don't mind I was doing some research on compression ratios and since you mentioned it can I have your opinion? I unfortunately don't have access to ethanol based fuels,best I can do is pump 95 octane, so what compression ratio would you recommend for around 1000/1200bhp. ?? Engine will be a fully built coyote 5.0 with twin turbos, stock compression is 12/1, people run around 700 whp before running into knock and changing over to e85, I feel that 9.5/1 compression is alright even though it sacrifices power and drive ability before boost,but feel that being able to add more boost with less compression is a safer route than running really high compression and less boost. Your thoughts ????

I have an IS300 with the stock 2jz-ge, i am going to turbo it and put a CD009 trans in it, gonna shoot for 8.8-9.2CR and 350-450hp. I want to be able to run 93 octane or E85 and any blend in between. I want this car to be able to go to the drag strip, drift track, and AutoX.

@mkgxcommanderx
@mkgxcommanderx 2 жыл бұрын
@@bigjdm5460 the labeled compression might be in a stock Supra motor, but it’s really defined by the dish of the piston. Compression ratio calculators don’t care what CR your pistons are labeled as, just takes into account the dish on the piston. Decking the head made it lose a nice amount of volume in the combustion chamber I.e higher compression ratio.

This makes me feel like I have made the correct decision, I'm in Europe and E85 isn't a thing here so I will run pump gas, I went with a Wiseco piston as shown in the video with a CR of 8.3 to 1. together with the "0.200 pin it will be a 1000hp piston and rod combo, but I will only be shooting for 650-700 wheel. thanks again realst!

interesting, because Europa always pushed hard the environment bs and don't use E85. here in Brazil, we have E100 in almost every gas station, so don't make any sense build a engine to run pump gas

Hello Jay. Maybe a stupid question. Do you use or recommend using piston oil squirters on a street drag car like Geo had or Pedro has? Or do these cause issues in high boost, high hp builds? I guess that could be a loaded question if you have a stroker without the piston machined for clearance.
@NegerKim

They're not needed when running E85 or similar fuel with great cooling.Oil squirters also takes away oil pressure.

Does compression for GE VVTi follow the same standard for the GTE. I’d like to run pump gas, but the GE comes with a higher compression. Should I lower it or keep MY stock compression?
@bigjdm5460
@bigjdm5460 2 жыл бұрын
yea that 91 or 93 is not up to par for that high compression. your not going to be nerves everytime you rip it. i believe you have to go with a GTE gasket and run e-85. Then rods won’t allow any power above 400whp “they say”. I’m on GE-Vvt-i block but i have new GTE pistons , H - tuff rods, King Xp bearings ARP head studs etc. Do it once do it right. I may get forged pistons too .

Hrmms the 2jzgte has a smaller bore than a 6g72. 2jzgte=87mm, 6g72=91.5mm bore. For a 3.0l 6 cylinder. Pretty sure the 6g72 has a shorter stroke than 2jzgte. That's were they made up the difference in displacement. More evidence a 6g72 could be a really good high compression, high rpm Naturally aspirated engine. As opposed to boosted. Just seems better suited for more rpms. Comes with 7000rpm redline.

@jamesnoz 2 жыл бұрын
91.5mm is a lot of piston to be throwing about. That's why is has shorter stroke. You'd have to work it out. But the smaller stroke doesn't mean it's an obvious less stress situation. As there's more piston mass.
