When i met my husband, i was not physically attracted to him. It was something about him that was off, and i couldn't put my finger on it. I ignored all the signs of a narcissist. Ladies trust your instincts/ discernment. Being married to the wrong person is a nightmare.

I understand FULLY!!!! About the attraction, I totally understand that some women AND men are vain. However, there’s the “I’m not very attracted to him” and then the “Oh no, I’m NOT attracted to him”. I’ve dated guys who I wasn’t immediately attracted to, but then I liked them. I’ve dated guys who had me smiling on the train thinking about him. They BOTH did something wrong unfortunately. I’m definitely more open now, but I have to be able to look at you but it’s not the sole importance. I’m looking at inner qualities and character.

I'm tired of family assuming something is wrong bc I'm not married and never been married at 45. I didn't settle for a reason. I was told to try marriage out one time. I'm thinking, that's the problem we're having in the world today. You shouldn't get married for fun and giggles....

Contrary to belief, Never married is better than being divorced because you married the wrong person. Celebrities make marriage a game. Divorce isn't fun, and mine was uncontested, simple divorce. Im 36, no kids (thankfully in this case), divorced finalized a few months ago from an Abusive, sadistic, narcissist. I was 34 when we married.

Dear Joan, bless you, darling! Wow! It is rare to find a soulful person with that type of drive, discipline, and determination. I assure you your Masters will be a rough challenging ride, but it is in those challenges and obstacles that you become the woman God intended you to be, and you will shine brighter than any star. Knowledge and grace in itself brings service and wonder. It's not about what you know, it's about how you operate in the world. Keep moving fwd, don't ever give up. Even if it's one skill you're good at, do it exceedingly well. You will leave imprints of love and service to all persons you encounter. Until then, have a fantastic night. Much love and hugs fr Australia, L x

Congratulations Joan! What a testimony! I am 56 in graduate school for the past 2 years after realizing I was married to the wrong man. I work full time as well, but God has equipped me to do this! He will see you through and you will be amazed how quickly time will fly. These days I am finding that age is no longer a factor for us to do such a rigorous program. My professors are blown away by how students in our age bracket are killing it! Psychology is such a healing profession both for the student and your future clients! I wish you all the best as you begin this process. I have begun clinicals this semester, and all the theory is becoming real! Praise the Lord and thank you for sharing.

Please allow Jehovah God to bring you someone who genuinely loves you so much that she would never leave you. Do not seek demonic spiritual assistance in getting back your ex. Satan is no one's friend. He comes only to steal, kill and destroy. Allow Jesus to heal you. Jesus comes that you might have life and have it more abundantly; and HE loved you before HE formed you in your mother's womb. HE has plans for you that far surpass your expectations.

Ptsd depression anxiety I'm doing better than i was a year ago. I'm still working on me. I started listening to Pastor Blakes when i was separated from my now ex husband, over a year ago. I'm thankful i found your channel. These messages hit in different ways any stage in your life and help you also understand the "why". Your ministry is needed for women that are "broken" from these relationships and don't know where to begin to get on the path of healing. There are platforms that don't have the woman's core, soul in mind, they are advising based on what a man wants and not what God wants. We cannot settle at any cost.

Dear RC Blakes, thank you so much for this preaching! If you don't mind, I'd like to add three more reasons, and I would LOVE to hear you talking about them one day. 1) Brainwashing little girls that negative attention = affection. I'm from Poland. Here we have a saying : "Kto się czubi, ten się lubi", which a variant of English: "The quarrels of lovers are the renewal of love." Here in Polish it has a bit different meaning: "If a boy starts a fight with you or is nasty to you, it means he likes you". This saying is usually used in a context of children or tweens/teens, when a girl is treated by a male peer in a rude way, is pranked by him, gets sarcastic, provocative comments from him, is name called or ridiculed etc. It normalizes abuse, but also it creates an impression in girls, that bad boys are rude, because just try to get nice girl's attention. If he "targets" you, then it means he fights you cute / pretty. 2) TOXIC, DISRESPECTFUL FATHERS. Well, I love my Dad, but he is a toxic man. He has always been disrespectful to my Mom. He never truly loved her. His father was a misogynist, who hated women and simply saw them only as s*x objects. He is a couch potato, lazy, with zero effort, extremely grandiose and opinionated. First to criticize everyone, last to do things. Yes, he is a narcissist. And when I fell in "love", I feel in love with narcissistic psychopath. The relation trap finally ended, but I got terribly emotionally wounded, with CPTSD. I never had any healthy male role model. I am learning from you what is "normal". I am 42, childless and single. I pray for a chance to get a godly husband and be a Mom. God can do it! But my heart aches terribly, because my Dad wasn't raised to love, protect or respect women. that's why I never loved, respect and protected myself from bad people. 3) Not knowing any decent, normal, godly men. Women raised in toxic families rarely have "access" to healthy people. Our parents have toxic relatives and toxic friends. Sometimes we live in places, when there are simply no available single men. I don't have a single neighbour my age. I don't have a single friend. I have no one to introduce me to a good single guy. And... I don't know what to do. Except from praying. I hope the Lord has the answer I don't have and will become my "Matchmaker". I tried to befriend people, but they are usually not interested in creating friendly bonds. They are preoccupied with their lives, or actually, don't need friends. I had wonderful late neighbours - two elderly couples. They were like my real family. Now neighbours don't even know each other, not to mention visiting each other. I don't know when to meet a man. God help me! Thanks for amazing teaching pastor! May God bless you abundantly, may He bless lovely Lisa and your whole family!

Much love. I've seen this in movies about boys teasing girls when they like them since I was little. Teasing is much different from abuse, though the line can get blurred and I am also 42 and for the last five and a half years I have been in an off on, sometimes helpful sometimes hurtful situationship in which I often tried to teach the guy that not everything is right to tease about if you really love someone. So thanks for sharing from Trinidad and Tobago. 🇹🇹 I hope it isn't too late for me either. I have seen how much I have changed although I am still fighting it.

This is a good word. It's true that if you pick before you know what you need, you may choose the wrong man (with the wrong qualities or character traits). Now, at 40+, attractive is kindness, honesty, empathy, listening, leadership, self-awareness, good business or social etiquette, etc!! Not abs or what car he drives.. I think recognizing your true needs (love, kindness, empathy..); And if you are agreeable, there is a need for boundaries - to say No at times. If you can not set some boundaries early in the relationship, you will often struggle or resent that you tolerated too much. ❤

This message was so timely and the sound quality was excellent (congratulations on the new equipment 🎉). The example you made about Leah seeking Jacob’s approval really struck home. Often times, in wrong relationships, women are just little girls seeking the approval they never received from their earthly father. But if we are obedient to God, through Christ Jesus, we have all the approval we will ever need. Thank you Pastor Blakes and Lady Lisa for all that you do.

“He’s a good man, Savannah. A GOOD man. He’s just in a bad situation right now and he’s trying to get out of it!” 😂😂 - Waiting To Exhale

Good Lord, I heard something similar. I was told my extremely emotionally abusive ex bf's best friends, that he is "a guy who has a heart of gold", who would definitely marry me. If they meant his heart is cold, without any feelings and focused on materialism, then I could agree. One of these people told me, after I broke up with my ex, that he knows the guy is toxic, unfaithful and was always a mismatch to me. I wonder why this man did it to me. Why to lie and "recommend" his buddy as a good guy, yet a bit in a bad situation, and not to say: "Run for your life, girl, he's an abuser!" :-/ Why people do such things?

I read that in my slavery southern mammy voice. Like I was on the plantation picking cotton.😂😂 The things women tell ourselves to stay in these one sided relationships. SAD!

Oh my goodness! Spot on wisdom! Wish i would have known these truths sooner ! Had to learn the hard way through a lot of deception and pain.. a lot of years wasted on men that were wrong for me. It’s better to learn late than never. Happy to put Jesus Ist after all these years. My life is in recovery and healing and i am happy and blessed.

Life can be great with just you and God yes. When a woman thinks that she can change a man, the only one that changes is her yes . When you choose before you know what you need, it's a disaster yes When you allow other people to set up your relationship yes, 😀 This is great, thank you Bishop.

I did settle. I did think I was running out of time. But I didn't think I had no identity without a man. I just thought it was a waste of my womanhood to be single and childless when I was born fertile and fiercely maternal.

Bishop this is so true!!! I met my husband when I was 13, not in a romantic way. I moved away and we reconnected when I was 25. In that time I dated "my type," & ended up leaving those 2 relationships. My husband was not physically "my type," although he is tall and handsome. He is definitely the man I NEEDED! None of my types were even half the man he is. We have been married for almost 17 years. Sidenote: When you say praise the Lord like that it takes me out EVERY time!! 😂 Got me saying it when I really want to say something else!! 😂
