In this video, i go through the steps to rebuild this solenoid pack. As long as it checks out eletrically it can be rebuilt and restored. I will put in the drill bit size when i get back to the shop. Thanks The drill size is .078

I change my solenoid block pack kit and he does it the wrench and check engine light still doesn’t go away and the car is still driving slow even though I put a transmission with 60,000 miles in it. I basically change the transmission from the old one to a much newer one car after changing the solenoid block pack he doesn’t just takeoff the way a car normally takes off kind of stay stuck on one gear do you know what this could be?

Hello sir,my rpm sometimes go wild while driving, sometimes reverse is not working but after I switched off the car and restarting it again after few minutes it will run again smoothly and all the shifts works fine. Is cleaning the solenoid helpful? Because the problem comes back repeatedly. Thank you and hoping for your cordial reply.
@GaryFerraro4 жыл бұрын
certainly sounds like the solenoid pack. Any codes? does the car by chance stop moving hot? what year is the car?
@terrydrew70025 жыл бұрын
Any chance you know if the temp sensor is replaceable in the solenoid? That the only error I'm getting and it's made the box very rough on shifts and has no sports mode.
@GaryFerraro5 жыл бұрын
I don't believe it is, you may want to see what it's reading through a scan tool, clear the code see how long before it returns, also unplug the connector at the trans make sure no corrosion, to unplug it i think it's a 10mm bolt in the center of the connector, this is not a common problem, i don't really see this issue
@terrydrew70025 жыл бұрын
Here in Australia these box's got installed into a sedan with a 4L straight six from 2008-2010 and they tend to get warm when treated like a race car which has been known to kill the temp sensor but I have found limited info on the solenoid block from the 5r55 until your video. Yeah will try the plug first I have already cleared codes and it's instant on start-up for low voltage on temp sense. If it's not a serviceable part I'll just have to order a new solenoid online. If I had any info on what operating temp voltage return was for that sensor I'd easily bypass that myself

Thanks for your time and video

Yep forward is fine-1&2 shifts fine -actually as long I don't need to back up I can drive it (I don't because I do not want to burn anything up) that's why I cant understand what is going on
@Tryin2FlyII6 жыл бұрын
I can feel it "kick" into R -I give it gas-engine revs it just wont move? put it drive it kicks in & moves forward sometime if I put it N and hit the 4 High button I hear and feel all 4 hubs lock in & it will back up- but only on flat ground (no power in R )
@GaryFerraro6 жыл бұрын
You have 2 things applied in reverse, the 4th clutch and the reverse band. If this drives fine with no issues in foward that tells me the 4th clutch is ok, so your problem is a broken reverse band.

I tried to do a manual tcm reset but I couldn't find good Instructions I don't know if it's that or if something went bad. I did alot or studying and talking to people thats why i leaned to the servos, it is a common problem with that trans. . help?
@GaryFerraro5 ай бұрын
Very possible the band is broken, if you drive and get it up to 20-25 mph and release the gas see if it will shift into 3rd gear. Just to confirm, no dipstick?
@bhauk9626able5 ай бұрын
@GaryFerraro no dipstick it won't shift out of first. The band wasn't broken when I replaced it. And I didn't really drive it, only the test drive.
@bhauk9626able5 ай бұрын
I did take the solenoids off to test them. I'm wondering if it might be because I didn't replace the gasket. It was a thick plastic one with rubber so I thought it would be okay. But now I seen a video where the solenoid mounts the aluminum gets warped

you may not, you have to look at the pins. The connector is held down with either an 8 or 10 mm bolt. just loosen the bolt all the way, it will stay in the engine harness side.

@@jec2606 Solenoid pack will not fix the car, if this shifts then you probably have a broken band, if your first shift is long then the front band is broken because it is shifting from 1st to 3rd. Sir Gary, my suv is ford everest in Philippines, 2.5 TDCI engine. The solenoid packs looks mine. I have issue with P0775. I notice high RPM from 1st gear to 2nd gear. Then there is no 5th gear. O/D OFF will blink after 3 to 5 mins driving. I am planning to follow your procedure for my pressure control solenoid B, been on research on this. I am thinking my solenoid B was just obstructed with dirt from fluid. I can observe when using SHIFT 3 or 2 and not shift D, O/D will not blink and check engine. I sent ya the pics to your email account. How would you check the pack electrically as you stated? I removed the pan to check the magnet and change the fluid access /drain plug that the torque bolt got stripped in. Thought I would check the continuity from the solenoid plug to the plug for the computer on the 4 affected systems and ensure there is no damage to the wires under the anti chaff covering just like to see that the wires are in fact intact, undamaged and have continuity without unwrapping the entire wire bundle..Good Idea or waste of time?
