In this video, i go through the steps to rebuild this solenoid pack. As long as it checks out eletrically it can be rebuilt and restored. I will put in the drill bit size when i get back to the shop. Thanks
The drill size is .078

I change my solenoid block pack kit and he does it the wrench and check engine light still doesn’t go away and the car is still driving slow even though I put a transmission with 60,000 miles in it. I basically change the transmission from the old one to a much newer one car after changing the solenoid block pack he doesn’t just takeoff the way a car normally takes off kind of stay stuck on one gear do you know what this could be?

Hello sir,my rpm sometimes go wild while driving, sometimes reverse is not working but after I switched off the car and restarting it again after few minutes it will run again smoothly and all the shifts works fine. Is cleaning the solenoid helpful? Because the problem comes back repeatedly. Thank you and hoping for your cordial reply.

Any chance you know if the temp sensor is replaceable in the solenoid? That the only error I'm getting and it's made the box very rough on shifts and has no sports mode.
@GaryFerraro
@GaryFerraro 5 жыл бұрын
I don't believe it is, you may want to see what it's reading through a scan tool, clear the code see how long before it returns, also unplug the connector at the trans make sure no corrosion, to unplug it i think it's a 10mm bolt in the center of the connector, this is not a common problem, i don't really see this issue
@terrydrew7002
@terrydrew7002 5 жыл бұрын
Here in Australia these box's got installed into a sedan with a 4L straight six from 2008-2010 and they tend to get warm when treated like a race car which has been known to kill the temp sensor but I have found limited info on the solenoid block from the 5r55 until your video. Yeah will try the plug first I have already cleared codes and it's instant on start-up for low voltage on temp sense. If it's not a serviceable part I'll just have to order a new solenoid online. If I had any info on what operating temp voltage return was for that sensor I'd easily bypass that myself

You have 2 things applied in reverse, the 4th clutch and the reverse band. If this drives fine with no issues in foward that tells me the 4th clutch is ok, so your problem is a broken reverse band.

you may not, you have to look at the pins. The connector is held down with either an 8 or 10 mm bolt. just loosen the bolt all the way, it will stay in the engine harness side.

Thought I would check the continuity from the solenoid plug to the plug for the computer on the 4 affected systems and ensure there is no damage to the wires under the anti chaff covering just like to see that the wires are in fact intact, undamaged and have continuity without unwrapping the entire wire bundle..Good Idea or waste of time?
