Ikokore is a very popular Ijebu dish made with wateryam and super delicious!!! I cannot upload a recipe of Ojojo without uploading one for Ikokore: I usually make Ojojo from the remnants of the wateryam I use in making Ikokore. Ikokore versus Ojojo, which do I love more? For anyone in London who can’t get water yam, a good alternative is to use yellow yam - the only difference is the colour and should be used in the same way as water yam. Because you’re cooking with palm oil, the yellowness of the yellow yam does not show and it’s just as delicious!

Add cocoyam to make it harder. Very nice. I'm from Cameroon but I love this food. Eat it while growing up and 2019 I visited Nigeria and hard it. My children and spouse love it. Nice method. Easy to follow. Love the way you season ye fish and meat. Some people just put them in and it still taste raw and shabbyyy 🤣

It won't be ikokore with normal yam, it has to be water yam cos of the texture

Im from Ikorodu, which is now in Lagos but I think it used to be under Ijebu Ode.

***** Ikorodu would have been under Ijebu Remo, darling. As Ikorodu is closer to Shagamu and Shagamu being Remo, Ikorodu would have been Remo. Infact, i am sure it is.
