Who else loves PORK PIES as much as we do? It’s a traditional English meat pie that’s filled with pork, surrounded by a layer of jelly and cased inside a hot water crust pastry. The perfect accompaniment to a cold pint of lager... and the perfect battle dish for our normals, Barry and Jamie.
Watch them go head to head in the ULTIMATE cook off and comment down below to let us know who your winner is!

I kinda disagree. When Ben is "mean" he does mean it, and says it because he wants them to improve and learn, like a teacher would. When James is "mean" it's mainly for the sarcasm value. Just my opinion.
@MrXaryon
@MrXaryon 3 жыл бұрын
@@walksthroughlife900 Still, James accusing someone from the staff of being mean is not something you see everyday. Also, Ben's definition of "mean" is more or less as you described - say something to their faces that will encourage them. James' definition of "mean" is just to be an ass and everyone else will turn it into a "lovely sarcasm".

Suggestion for a new type of head-to-head battle: Find a recipe with a bunch of either/or options in it (like in this one, where they could either shape the crust on the inside or the outside of the moulds), and show all those choices to the competitors before the battle begins. The two take turns picking categories where they want to make the decision, but they don't reveal which option they want to go with right away. After all the categories are divvied up, they privately tell the stander-off-to-the-sider which options they're going with, and their opponent gets stuck with all the opposite choices. Then the battle starts, and each competitor only finds out which method they have to use when that step actually comes up. I call this format... "Split Recipe Soup"

I would be tempted to call it a Tie... Jamie's Hilariously Charming Antics during food prep brought his score up for Me... Even though Barry's may have been technically better made. Both look very tasty as I can't find them here... --- For a future Recipe-less Dessert challenge, How about Napoleon/Mille-Feuille ....a lifelong Fave Dessert ... ps- Please bring back the Fabulous "Janice" to narrate more episodes. :-)

Is Mike getting a rest in these things because he always had to cook in the videos during the lockdown? By the way: did everyone else get a taste of the 100 layered lasagna or is it still in his freezer?

I'm so thankful that you type out the captions instead of using voice recognition software like other channels do. It's much easier for me to focus when there aren't as many mistakes in the transcript. I think of the deaf community often because of this and, if they're here, then I hope they feel welcome. Big love to whoever does that for us and everyone else who may be hiding out of sight. 😊 Later! 💜💚

I love this video. SORTEDfood have inspired me so much, but this video takes it to another level. I absolutely love watching two blokes try to bake a pork pie! I was very impressed all round. The Chef's ones obviously look amazing. I'd love to know who made those! I'm also impressed by Jamie and Barry's ones. I just wish there was another video like this with Mike included too! I am going to be trying to follow in the footsteps of Jamie and Barry and make my own! Thanks guys!
