If Red Dead was a 40's Western, the violence would be shown off screen and Arthur wouldn't be presented as a dubious figure at the beginning and his redemption would probably end with him joining the Pinkertons.

This is stunning! The grainy, monochrome filter, the score and music strikes, sound quality and even how the voices sound encapsulated the 1940's feel perfectly! I also really love the change in the title to "Red Redemption" for some reason, it just feels fitting for that era somehow. It's funny to think that the graphics might've passed off as real life footage back then.
@LegendsandKillersАй бұрын
Thanks man, yeah I thought the word 'dead' wouldn't be as popular in a 1940s western so just removed it ha.
@JinWBOАй бұрын
@@LegendsandKillers yeah that's what I imagined too actually, which is why I really appreciated that level of detail even in the title. It feels like it'd be a much more marketable title for a movie back in those times, than if it included the "dead" part.
@cavman9883Ай бұрын
@@JinWBOYou bring up an interestin' point, pardner. "Red Redemption" strikes me as the type to be a Classic Western, Spaghetti Western, full of traditional Old West elements, and a lively classic atmosphere (Think of Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Lone Ranger). Alternatively, "Red Dead Redemption" gives off impressions of being a gritty Dark Western, Revisionist Western, and one that challenges the typical Old West elements (think of Hell on Wheels, Coen Brother's True Grit, Assassination of Jesse James).
@Mr_John_HerbertАй бұрын
Hypothetically, if arthur morgan was a real gunfighter and was in all those shootouts, he would have many early hollywood movies would be highly inaccurate.
@zerozeroone4424Ай бұрын
I think what really sells this is the way you did the audio, used era accurate soundtracks, and even place the camera shots in ways that the movies back then were produced.
@koolaid33Ай бұрын
I think with a little roughing out the edges and some polished transitions, this could be a masterpiece. An awesome concept based on an awesome game.
@HEKVTАй бұрын
The black and white filter makes it soooo good, I think just that does about 50% of the work to make this look so good, and the grainy effects, the audio, the music, it's perfect.

and idea for this Red Redemption concept: make entire episodes centered around one main mission per episode (or one main and one side if the side relates to the main or if the main is too short) and each chapter finale will conclude a full season (so season 1 will probably be the shortest season since chapter 1 only has 6 missions and no side content)

Took me a while to figure out what makes this video so convincing and I just realised it's the small detail of all the shots being locked off, because of course a Western B movie like this wouldn't have the budget for a crane and handheld cameras weren't practical yet so the camera basically had to stay on the tripod
