Thank you for the clear and concise explanation. Well done.

Omg.....that is the simplest disassemble procedure ever....thank you

Be careful when you remove the trigger group. It is very easy for the pawl to come off, which will allow the pawl plunger and spring to fly out and be lost forever! That was my experience, and it sounds like I'm not the only one it's happened to. *sigh*. Have part #'s KH05000 & KH05100 ready when you call Ruger for your replacements!

I wish Ruger would discontinue this difficult internal assembly & just use the frame internals of the Super Redhawk. They could call it the New Model Redhawk.
@jimjames6074 Жыл бұрын
That's a good idea! They have a round square butt grip frame on the super redhawk and gp100, I never liked the grip frame on the gp100

Question my hammer pivot pin needs a punch to remove it does not fall out could this affect trigger /hammer pull when fireing double action , also no take down pin was present. Could this be a quality control issue ? What do you think
@shadewoodhull24895 жыл бұрын
I just bought a new Redhawk, can't get the trigger latch pin to budge.

RugerFirearms - This is a great idea, but the content is shown way too fast. 2:15 is not long enough to properly show how to disassemble a Redhawk revolver. Remember, the people watching this video DO NOT WORK for gun manufacturer. Please take the time and do this right. Update this video and S-L-O-W down to show full steps and procedures. Your customers deserve better than a 2-minute infomercial.

If you do this you will never EVER get your Redhawk back together again.

I have a redhawk and to disassemble it seems more complicated than taking my semi apart. I fired my 44 maybe 200 rounds tops and all I've cleaned was the barrel. will that affect it if I have to use it?
@loganbelt96814 жыл бұрын
Don’t take it apart, if the hammer falls she will do just fine. Squirt some oil down there if you’re really worried
@GarfieldEnjoyer18783 жыл бұрын
You really don’t have to take it apart. Unless you wanna do some work on the action or if a part breaks

I used the Mainspring Strut Assembly to try to pull the Trigger Guard Latch to the rear as directed but the Latch failed to move. It is locked tighter than a tick in a hound dogs ear. Question regarding this has been submitted and am now awaiting an answer on how to motivate this Latch. Side note: This mechanism had no lubricant of any kind. The action is rough so that is why I wanted to access the trigger assembly. S&W parts have a very shallow hardening to them to prevent wear and "polishing" the action is discouraged. I am wondering about Ruger. This action is very rough.

Ruger replied. They want to have a look at the RH so I've got to send it back to the factory. Brand fracking new gun and haven't even shot the damned thing! Piece of shit!
@patmancrowley85097 жыл бұрын
I have received my Redhawk back from Ruger. The Trigger Guard Latch pin now moves just fine. The revolver shoot just fine. Life is good and so is the gun. Thanks Ruger. It shouldn't have left the factory like that but you've fixed it just fine.

I was lucky and found the pawl. Only because I was in house with a white tile floor. One would think that a factory video would be more detailed. Now I have to find out how the pawl goes back in the trigger.
@patmancrowley85097 жыл бұрын
Fracken-eh! They should have mentioned the Mainspring strut retention pin shouldn't slip all the way in or the head of the pin will lodge in the assembly and will be heck to remove.

I have the model with hogue grips. I don’t see a screw or anything to remove it Also just noticed mine doesn’t have the disassembly pin
@somnolentSlumber3 жыл бұрын
hogue grips have the screw at the bottom of the grip. the disassembly pin is just a pin, you can use a paperclip if you really need to
@followingjesus20644 жыл бұрын
No,that's not as far as I need to go for proper maintenance and cleaning. How about trigger and cylinder disassembly? As dirty as these guns get,you should've demonstrated COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY!

I have a much simpler two-step method to disassemble a Ruger Redhawk. 1) Don't get a Redhawk. 2) Get a Smith and Wesson Model 27 instead.
