In this lesson you will learn how to stack multiple materials on top of each other. Layering materials in Redshift Render is different than in C4D. It's a node based way of stacking, but with a Photoshop feel. At first it might feel a bit foreign, but after a bit of practice, it will become your new favorite way to create textures.

Thanks for the good tutorial. I subscribed in the first 10 seconds. I have a question, how can you stack/layer a transparent material. The "Blending Color" for the assigned layer allows the material to be visible but if it's transparent, it doesn't show what's behind it.

what about stacking different materials so each material is using different projections. In C4d you can use procedural shader.. then take your camera and project another material with an alpha mask on top and you can zoom in to the area you want...so say you have a skin material over everything... then you can take a camera point on the forehead and place a scar material exactly where you want.. like a decal..so you could have multiple materials stacked in the object manager on the object.. so the entire material stack isnt bound by one material.. one material can be repeated and another material can just be one tile material projected on the surface of the tiled material and so forth..
