Another huge milestone on our journey towards winning a super major with link and improving at the game we love.
Sheik is by far link's hardest matchup. I generously give it an 80 : 20 chance
( sheik favored ) it is incredibly difficult.
Krudo isn't just an incredible sheik and a phenomenal player. He is currently ranked #31 on the 2023 melee global power rankings and he is regarded as a top 20 level player in the entire world.
Not only this, but he has the most link experience out of any other sheik due to having Kuya ( 3rd best link in the world ) as a consistent training partner for nearly 6 years.
In my opinion this is a historical melee set that will change how the link vs sheik matchup is played in the future. Truly a legendary set. Enjoy!
Shoutouts to NathanSandwich and TreytheTrashman for their stellar commentary. Loved their commentary block! You can check them out more here.

Thank you everyone for watching and for your support. I'm super proud of how I did and this is only the beginning! Such a fitting set for " Genesis " Shoutouts to Krudo for such an amazing set. He was absolutely amazing to fight and is such a great competitor. He also seems like a really cool person. Can't wait for our rematch! Also absolutely loved Trey and Nathansandwich's commentator block. Highly recommend anyone to watch their block. It's so good!! Till next. " Through the Fire and The Flames we carry on. "

Nice to have commentators who respect both players and characters, streams where they spend the set down talking link is such a bummer. Super hype

Yeah I totally agree with you. The set was great but I think the commentator duo was a key factor in making it such a legendary set. Nathansandwich and TreytheTrashman really made this one special for me. They are incredible

Yeah her cc is really good. Krudo was great at utilizing it to. Against a sheik who knows how to cc I can't get openings till she's at like 40 - 50% and even then she can cc all link's weak hits. Such a hard but fun matchup to solve

I cant tell if RedX is using the bomb slide-off because he wants to style or because its optimal. In any case, the bomb plays are hype and I love it.
@RedXLink
@RedXLink 4 ай бұрын
It used to be to style but now it's like for mixup / it's a reallllly good edge steal technique. If you time it right sheik and marth can die at like 50%

I think you did really well given the overwhelming odds against you, as the commentators and you have mentioned (higher ranked opponent, losing matchup). I think praising Krudo for the sole reason of shining a light on how well you did can be very helpful for context/storyline, but it seems a little excessive/incomplete when it's said without context to the more important details of how you think the set went, (e.g. how prepared you felt, did you/he do anything especially good/bad, how you think the two of you played overall).
@RedXLink
@RedXLink 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words and praise! Also, I appreciate your honesty. Since you asked I'd say I could have beaten Krudo had I not fought him on the ground as much as I did during the battlefield and dreamland games. But I did not at the time think it would be as close as it was when starting the set. I truly thought with all his link exp and how hard the matchup is that I would get washed but learn exactly what I needed to learn in order to make the matchup more doable for link. However, during the battlefield game I was noticing that to my surprise my anti sheik strats I had come up with were not only effective on average sheik players but also top level players. ( and no not just sheik ) Since discovering this I've changed my focus to delving further into these strats and I'm already finding crazzzzy results. What I've found legit might be the key link needs to be what I always believed him to be. S tier ( and possibly beyond ) Key things I feel krudo should have down for our rematch is the chaingrab on link ( its unbelievably free and creates a HUGE momentum swing ) He could also work on his bomb grabbing game ( like jmook with turnips ) and z catch them in the air or when they are on platforms. This I believe is the next level to countering the strats I have in mind. But we'll see how things play out. and I think on the ground he played nearly perfect. I couldn't open him up at all and that's why he destroyed me on the ground during the battlefield game and during the dreamland game. I was also very surprised he did not punish my grab with his own grab on pokemon cause that easily could have been the set ender on his part. ( it looked like he may have mis inputted his JC grab but im not sure ) I capitalized really well off of his mistake but on paper he should have had that game or at least an edgeguard opportunity. Any other questions feel free to ask. I'm very open to sharing. I'm tired of link being viewed as a gimmick character. Link can win a super major. I'm gonna do it and this set proves to me that my playstyle is winning me the sets not a lack of char knowledge or falling for link gimmicks on my opponent's side.

Bro, they/them is a neutral term that can apply to anyone no matter what your pronouns are. Unless specifically asked to not call you they/them, as a commentator its easiest and potentially the most respectful to do so
