We are all capable of joining together to protect our planet. We must prohibit KXL but we must also not permit the snake behavior that business is so fond of: building the KXL under different name and in a slightly different location. The fact is many pipelines are being proposed and built, the KXL is just one albeit major since it would connect Canadian Tar Sands to Texas Refineries. TransCanada has a variety of pipelines: Energy East Pipeline and Enbridge Inc. which has already been approved as well as other pipelines being re-built to carry double the amount. We must reject all of these in principle! Moreover, our success does not depend on the absence of KXL but shifting consciousness. Our economic system require ceaseless growth and will ceaselessly attack resources until they all run dry. Only then will our system cease: upon our extinction. Our highest moral obligation is to understand this system and learn how to combat it. Though Marx is infamous, his precise description of capitalism remains true: we must create a class consciousness that ignites dissolution of these systems before they dissolve prospects for life.
