Do you have a video where you compare the WRITING experience?
@FlatbedQueen4 ай бұрын
Thank you for this video I feel like everyone else video only covers the A6 and doesn't give a good comparison in size. I knew the A6 supernote was too small for my liking. I wanted to see a bigger size supernote beside the remarkable and you gave me that. I love the look of the remarkable but it's not going to be fun spending that much money on something for the looks when it's not going to be used. I'm happy you could have shown me the actual size of the supernote A5 with the remarkable. I think I'm going with the supernote. It just have features I think would be good for me with writing. ❤

the UI in the note taking process (changing brush/eraser/color etc) seems to be quickier in the remarkable 2 compared to the A5X.... is that a real thing or is just my eyes?

Which one is better for taking notes on a book, or creating a notebook on a course? And then basic functions such as sharing it.
@JordanMSchroeder3 жыл бұрын
I'd love a video comparing the actual writing on each. The one thing that has always been a problem for any digital notebook is that small lag between writing and the image appearing. My brain goes into buffering mode and it makes it unusable for me. Can you do a short video to compare RM2 and A5X for that? I cannot find another video that compares that aspect. Just purely writing. Something as simple as a long bit of text that you write without pausing with the camera zoomed in to see the responsiveness.

@@EVERYTHINGcpo The other thing which would be interesting to see is the file management - looks like the Supernote has a "recent documents" - does it have a "search function? I'm testing a non-hacked RM2 and it's very cumbersome to move between notebooks and files (even with "favorites"). No search. No easy way to jump to particular pages. Also I've found the RM2 very irregular for page gestures/turns - perhaps 1 out of every 3 "swipes" results in nothing. Thanks again for your videos - very helpful!

There are features coming to the A5X that will be a great help... like split screen, and PDF zooming, etc. The Max Lumi is going to have that real estate, tho... and it's hard to deny that that larger display can show a lot more content at once!

How about reading pdfs? Portrait would be difficult on the smaller screen to read academic pdfs as other reviewers have noted. However can't you just turn it to landscape and have it automatically resize the width so the font is bigger and you simply scroll down to read? How would you take notes in regards to the pdf on both?
@EVERYTHINGcpo3 жыл бұрын
Neither of these do this great right now. Supernote is working non an update to include pdf zooming, so curious how that is going to work. For now, you can set the crop level of you need to get a good look at something but it’s a pain.

Hi! I was just wondering if the screens of the two devices are different? It looks like the reMarkable screen is whiter but is that just on video?
@Amelclock2 жыл бұрын
Both screens have roughly the same color. The only difference is in the borders. The borders on the Remarkable have the same color as the screen, whereas the borders on the Supernote are white.
@katrinegadegaard12412 жыл бұрын
People say it's technically the same, pretty much. However having both of the devices, I can say that the RM2 screen looks significantly whiter than A5X in reality. It may be an optical illusion, due to the color of the RM2 frame, but it's a very convincing and durable illusion, if that's the case. No matter what you do, put them side by side, halfway on top of one another or whatever, it still looks a lot whiter than the A5X.. so for all intents and purposes, it is whiter to the human eye/brain.
@digitalreflections3 жыл бұрын
side by side the remarkable screen looks a little whiter in this video - is that the case?
@EVERYTHINGcpo3 жыл бұрын
It's an interesting issue with perception due to the frame color. Because the screen is gray (light)... and the bezel of the A5X is white, the screen looks darker. Remarkable got it right by making the bezel gray as well so it appears to be the same color... and it's not appearing as dark. If you remove the frame colors and just find a way to focus on the display color, they are pretty close. reMarkable might be a *slight* bit lighter, but not by much. In day to day use, I don't even notice a difference.

The rM2 looks like the screen is whiter. Is that accurate in normal light, or is that just a consequence of the filming/camera? It makes it look like the rM2 is much more... well, paperlike, instead of Supernote that clearly looks like a screen of some sort.

I’m really torn myself. I just started paying attention and building interest in these notepad replacement tablets in the past week, and after watching over a dozen YT vids, I’m still going back and forth on which one of these two I want to get. Can someone with working knowledge help lean me in an even more informed direction? Aesthetically, I really like the look of RM2 over the SN. I’m not a sketch artist but occasionally I need some room for doodling with my IT job. I’m very big on planners and lists and random thoughts I want to jot down. The other two things that are important to me as are the ease of creating tags&favorites to quickly recall notes via searching key words; I feel like the SN leans better that way? Also, not a deal breaker, but an advantage, is being able to sync my google calendar with my notepad tablet; again, I believe the SN has the functionality over RM2? What also is important to me will be annotating and transferring PDF files for work between tablet laptop; I believe both RM2 & SN get this job done? I’m not too concerned with the price of each, and not overly concerned with the (new) $2.99 Connect subscription fee after a year. Can someone with working knowledge or either or both help point me in either direction?

I just bought a super note, the fact that rm2 needs a subscription for very basic functions, sucks, and the super note pens are awesome
@JorgeAFlores Жыл бұрын
Also I forgot, with super note the pack contains all that you need, while rm2 you need to purchase everything separately
@Snow35733 жыл бұрын
I noticed the RM is not showing the full page of your calendar file since parts of it are being covered up by the menu bar on the left side. This was what bugged me a lot with the RM1 before I sold it. It was also something I hated with the AX6 when I first got it. When I got the AX6, it was really bare-bones where you can’t even create your own template. I waited and waited and then when it became possible, they have parts hidden on the side and top that drove me nuts as well. That’s when I discovered Boox and the AX6 was sold too.
@EVERYTHINGcpo3 жыл бұрын
You just need to build the template for the platform. I have a version of that document that isn’t covered up by the rM toolbar, but I wanted to use the same document on each device. The Boox just shrinks the page to make it smaller so the toolbar doesn’t overlap it. Some people don’t like that either, so essentially it just boils down to preference.
@Snow35733 жыл бұрын
@@EVERYTHINGcpo Yeah, I know that’s how Boox does it..shrinking it a bit to fit and then you can expand full page if you must recover that bit of shrinkage. I agree it’s a matter of preference and was just turned off by having to re-do my templates (had them done for the Nova while the AX6 did not have the feature yet) to accommodate. Plus, I couldn’t read my Kindle books on it either...so that was another reason I kept the Nova and sold the AX6. The Supernote has been catching up in features but no regrets for switching to Boox.

@@EVERYTHINGcpo Thank you for your kind answer I know that Remarkable 2 has jittering(jagged line) and distortion. However, Super Note seems to have very precise writing skills, and Super Note seems to have a shorter "distance between text and screen surface" than Remarkable 2.
@athletejmv3 жыл бұрын
@@hez5778 I have both devices. The distance between tip and screen of the stylus is slightly closer on the remarkable (probably because the film on the SuperNote is thicker). However, images appear clearer on the Super Note... to make things more confusing, text generally looks more pixelated on the Super Note although clearer lol. The SN is easier/quicker to navigate... response time is quicker on the rM2... both devices feel completely different although serving similar purposes... so conflicting lol. Some folks have opted to own both... If I could only choose one, it would be the Super Note. The stylus feels better and more precise... the A5X feels more durable (it is more durable), customer support is VERY good, and they emphasize monthly updates to keep the device feeling new and relevant.

@@athletejmv Thanks for this comment. I'm currently trying to decide between the rM2 and SuperNote A5X. It's been a real tough choice. A faster UI is important to me (which seems to be where rM2 wins) and I like the remarkable UI better in general. Plus I don't think I'll use all of the A5X's features as I won't be doing much reading on the device. But that ceramic nib, the real pen feel of the stylus, and the better customer support have me leaning towards the Supernote. Just don't know for sure. Just when I think I've made up my mind, the other one tempts me again.
