Yes it was an action pack summer lol i had alot of fun. Yes the thatch hide under the lawn making you think its not there so we must remove it before we start the overseed process. And yes I'm back to get us thru the fall season to prepare us for spring. I gotta send everyone off the right way. Stay tuned

I bought a SunJoe dethatcher this fall after watching your earlier video. When I ran the machine, I was surprised at how much stuff came out of my TTTF lawn. Good to see you had similar experience. I aerated and overseeded as well - as you are planning to do. With all the rain in SE Massachusetts the last couple of weeks, my TTTF lawn is filling in great. Thanks for your channel, it is my favorite for lawn care.

@petergabriel3576 they have plenty of different Sun dethather now newer models. The one I used in this video is the Sunjoe AJ081E model its one of yhe first models but it gets the job done but check out Amazon or Walmart.com they have them there.

I dethatch using The Grounds Keeper II Rake. It's an unusual looking rake but it does an amazing job getting out all that dead grass and doesn't damage the grass at all. I might buy the Sun Joe when it goes on sale but for now the Grounds Keeper II does the job.

Hey Lawn Amateur, I love your videos they are full of good information. How are you going to clean up that thatch? Will you pick it up and recycle it or mulch back into the yard? What about the hole in the yard where some type of varmint has taken unsolicited residence? Your yard looks great and I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation. My wife and I love to cruise and have been to Bermuda several times.

The easiest way to pick up the thatch is to use your lawn mower and bag it less work and easy clean up. For the varmint I may set up a trap to capture him so I don't harm him but safely remove him. And thank you I love to cruise and been to many places except Bermuda so I had to get it done lol and I tell you I had a wonderful time. The beach was so beautiful. Ok so my grass is growing but I did not de-thatch too much rain in California. So now my grass is spotty in areas… should I worry or just get through to next fall??? We need more videos please

Thank you The ironite can be spread down with other fertilizers because its an iron supplement so its fine to spread down with others

Make sure you put down a pre emergent. Check online when you should put it down in Louisiana. Likely mid-Feb. This will likely keep many of the weeds from coming back next spring/summer

@@dawnbyrd4175 lol the sparks fly from time to time just because of the blade occasionally hitting the concrete but it won't harm you. But you can use the weed whacker to edge the lawn also.
