Those are rivets ( the ones for the door handle). You can drill them out next time.... usually made of aluminium, so very easy to drill out.

You could use the piece that you cut out for a shutter so no one can see in at night and when you away for security it can drop down when not in use 😊

Fearless people. 😁 Perhaps the priority would be to insulate the roof or install sandwich tiles because you know very well what summer is like, right? 🔥Legislation in Portugal has changed. See if you can change the height of the barn to make the mezzanine wider. Keep strong. 💪💪

We started our own build on our house and i guess, in the beginning it's looking and trying "the flow" where you will enter in and then everything goes more smooth, you can see that you are starting to get in the flow, so keep it up. Like always, beautiful work don.

Oil based paint takes an age to through cure anyway and, of course, theres no suction from the metal. Thats a good job well done.

Looking more like a home now. Are you considering using two panes of glass in the window ? I did that and it is insulated much better. Looking forward to see what you will do with the door. That door handle looked to have been attached with rivets. In theory, you should be able to remove the softer metal pin through with a drill. Uncle Nick could probably have given you some pointers. :-) Nice progress.

When you replace the roof, would you consider a sky light, over the bed mezinine area, which would give you a lot more light. Great job on door. Laura you could paint a lovely picture on the glass door window, to reflect light. 💚

To get paint of metal objects you can use fire. Heat the area vith a blowtorch or something and just scrape the paint of.

Another bit done and another step forward. Ive noticed that the americans off grid tv type shows are using the underground root cellars that use the earths underground tempriture to keep food good. May be worth at look online at some of these for hints. In scotland we just keep the milk outside as its bloody freezin here all the time.lol. Good luck and keep up all the great work. David H
