@@repaired2106 I'm not sure if you'll see this but I'm hoping to get an 09 Ford focus and would like to get an aftermarket radio for it. Do you have a video on how to put in an aftermarket radio with this style of trim? Would I have to get a whole new dash kit?

@@connorstiles1001 yes you have to buy the dash panel, crutchfield sells them for like $30. I just bought one for my wife's car.

@@MrMetalguy7 Hi, I will try and explain what I did. Just to verify I to anyone reading I am talking about the central column from right below the radio to the cup holder at back between the seats. To remove the center column you open the center arm rest, pull the silver colored plastic up from the inside of the arm rest forward (held by snaps), which can come off over the shifter and emergency brake (the black piece with faux leather can be removed from front with snaps but is fragile, can use a spudger to help). If you can spin and pull that long silver platic piece off then the center is held by the plastic anchors and bolts at front and back. Also remove the 4 screws holding the arm rest on to separate the back cup holder. When those are removed the whole central console comes right out! I replaced mine with one with ambient lighting (punch outs, wiring and lenses factory placed in another center console with a module under dual cup holder) and all I had to do was plug it in and add the ambient lighting button lower right dash (just popped out plastic with flat head screwdriver, then when revealed pressed plastic locks snaps up and pulled forward). I did all this without removing the radio dash. Now to remove the radio (my cd player was jammed by previous owner forcing 3 CDs in lol) you have to move (or at least peel / pull) lower front center column plastic out to get to the bottom bolts holding the dash radio bottom in). 2 bolts need to be removed behind central vent (place spudger at top and lightly pull downward and out to remove the plastic clips which moves out both vents) and you will need an extension or sized socket tool to reach them. Then you have to remove two screws / bolts above cluster, pop the right side out to reveal the edge of center console radio dash, place spudger or flat head under plastic front right passenger dash to pop it out at left side to reveal center console radio dash, then you can pop the center console radio dash clips out. It is very heavy so be ginger in finding how to unlatch the radio and ac harness plugs behind the central dash. The radio head unit is screwed onto the inside of the central dash which can be removed by if I recall 4 small star key screws. Easier said than done, but it can be done. I hope all this helps!
