I love these alternative phrases. The one I find interesting is over the moon. It re-emerged in the past five years or so. It’s a phrase that is from the first half of last century, or perhaps earlier than that! When I heard it in a tv movie from five years ago. I thought it wouldn’t last as long as it has, but I couldn’t think of an alternative example to replace it, so I’m just going with it.

Yes you can say "I am burnt out" instead of "I am tired". Burnt out more means that you have nothing left to give.
