Turning Halo into a CoD clone was not just creatively bankrupt, it also made existing fans mad. Next was Call of Halo 2, err I mean H5. Now with a worse story! Their newest game is Halo Infinite, despite the title the game launched with the complete opposite of infinite content. They took so long to give us basic stuff like Forge back! Now let's see what an actually good developer, 343, blessed Halo fans with. H4 had better character writing than the games that came before and is the most graphically impressive Halo game on the 360. H5 made gameplay changes that revived competitive Halo and the Forge upgrades were huge! Halo Infinite was a masterfully crafted hybrid of traditional Halo and modern FPS gameplay, and it brought back the traditional art style too. As you can see you haven idea what you're talking about. You just keep contradicting yourself and making no sense bro.

@@tinyprince Well, it's a AAA studio. They circumvent inaccuracies of microphone by having multiple microphones set up at separate angles and distances. And usually those expensive fluffy boom mic's too. But in my experience, you really only need one recording. Plus, if you have a mic farther away, you also get a distant gun sound to use! You can see the type of setup if you look up any sort of videogame gun recording 'behind the scenes' stuff, like that behind the scenes Halo Infinite weapons video they released awhile back. Sure, it takes sound *mixing* to get what you desire, adding bass, a 'punch' to it, what have you, but nonetheless at the core of it, it's still the recording of a real gun. The one used for third person in this game is just the unedited gunshot. EDIT ADDITION: Plus, the sample rate professional mics record at is around 96000kHz or higher, where as modern games typically have their audio files at 48000kHz.

@@NPC_GENERIC_ENEMY_INFANTRY I appreciate the effort you put into your answer, but what I took issue with was the generalising nature of your original comment. I didn't say that it couldn't be done. Older videos of people shooting guns are often recorded using microphones that aren't up to the task. They seem to cut out above a certain noise or frequency level. Thus, you can't necessesarily capture the sound of a gunshot by simply recording it. That was all I intended to say with my original comment.

@@tinyprince Ah, I see what you were going for now, my mistake. I agree, most built in microphones for portable devices are never typically up to snuff, and so technically not all microphones can capture the thunder of gunfire in their full quality. There *have* been rather suprising instances of gun sounds maintaining their quality in some older videos I've seen, but they're outliers. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Storm Rifle obviously sucks compared to the Plasma Rifle but I bet it wouldn't have been hated as much if it didn't sound like a fucking Nerf gun.

An extra year making it an Xbox one launch title would’ve made the Xbox one a lot more desirable of a purchase. Though halo 4 running on the 360 is still incredible

The original plan was making the game an Xbox One exclusive but Microsoft pressured them in making it for the 360 due to the lack of first party titles. Kinda surprising (despite all the bad sides of h4) that the game turned to be fine and to this day still the only 343's game without major complications during launch despite having less developing time in comparation with 5 and Infinite

Exactly! I really miss the hissing compressed gas sounds (eg. the Energy Sword), a lot of them we're replaced with strange laser pew pew and metallic sounds

@@possiblyzslot838 funny how 343i can unintentionally make faithful continuations of the bungie style once in a while. Though I will give them credit for Infinite's depiction of Mjolnir Mk4 and Mk5, those are as good as it gets within the limitations of being put in a completely different art direction from where they came from.

Sadly, this is a montage, not a mod. I'm waiting H4 tools to hopefully make this video a reality, but if H4 won't have sound modding support (like H3 right now) we're screwed

I actually tried to do that. The problem is that Assembly doesn't let you see the single audio samples/layers unlike Adjutant, so it isn't possible yet. Anyway, I didn't alter or mix anything, the layers are as you hear in the video, all I did was ripping them and assembling the video
