I'm actually convinced that Ethan Winters was one of the many children adopted for the Wesker project by Spencer. There are multiple hints and nods throughout RE7 that Ethan has some dark past that he doesn't want known, the biggest example being when Mia says "What are you hiding Ethan? What don't you want me to know?!", like that was something she was thinking before during their time in marriage, along with Ethan's knowledge in chemistry and his nonchalant reaction to the Molded but not to the Bakers. Even though he's not listed in RE5's Lost In Nightmares, there were actually hundreds of children adopted for the Wesker project and those adoptions continued throughout the duration of the project including around the time Ethan was born (1984), the ones in the 13 list made the top cut weren't picked until sometime before 1998, while the others that weren't picked for the top pursued regular jobs under the supervision of Umbrella. Ethan could've been one of the Wesker children who didn't make the top and pursued his career as a Systems Engineer, but after Umbrella's downfall, he had changed his name from Ethan Wesker to Ethan Winters in order to hide from them. It could also be possible that Ethan is the son of Alex Wesker, I mean look at Alex in Resistance, there is no doubt someone had the hots for her at some point, maybe Daniel Fabron? Anyway, that could be why Alex would want Ethan's child, or rather her own grandchild, as it would be the perfect candidate to reviving Albert Wesker.

Very interesting. I never considered the "what are you hiding from me" to be very significant. Ngl in RE7 it was hard to pay very close attention to very new, very nondescript characters.

Just my opinion, but I think the storyline of Albert developing uroborous to cure Alex was intentionally cut from the English translation, as perhaps they felt it was making him more of a sympathetic character & the fact that he was taken as an innocent was traumatic enough. Its a shame as re5 really fleshed his character out as someone who's motivation is more than just the stereotypical bad guy. Your insights really help gain an interesting foothold on these characters, look forward to more of your videos, well done, subbed 👍

Ohh ur definitely right. I don't even think that's an opinion, this as well as other ties between Albert and Alex were shamelessly ripped out of the English version to make each of them look more stereotypically ruthless and solitary, greedy for their own power. I kind of liked him in 5 but towards the end and final boss his writing was kinda crumbling, got lamer as it went on. I don't believe he's truly dead, or at least unable to be cloned or revived by Alex. Thx so much!!! This was the result of so much research, reading, sleepless nights, and a nightmare. You're correct about the end of re5's writing for Wesker, but it seemed as if they were rushing towards the finish line by beating us over the head with Chris is the good guy & he has to win blah blah. That's pretty telling by the fact that most of the files on the Wesker project are found in the lost in nightmares dlc, almost as if it was shoehorned in.

@@emmaevans9498 Right lol we can't really find info on how he was artificially selected in the core game RE5, or really much of his relationship to Spencer outside of just that one flashback, the cutscene with those two. I feel they oversimplify the writing for American audiences too. I remember also reading a line they had done with Chris and Leon in RE6 regarding Ada's actions, and they had altered the lines from Chris in regards to Ada from "Can you still trust her?" to "Will you protect her?" And Leon replies "I will protect her." Rather than "I know I can trust her" and such. It's a very predictable and uninteresting hero narrative they keep painting in 5 and 6. My previous vids also talk about how they make Alex Wesker in Revelations 2 look a lot more selfish and power-hungry, rather than address her sorrow over Albert's death, and almost completely omit the portions that talk about Albert. When Moira and Claire encounter her in her lab, Alex raves on immortality just like Spencer and Albert in English, but in Japanese it's all about Albert's loss, Spencer's visions and such. It's a much more holistic take on the storytelling, such a shame it's dummed down.

I remember reading Kafka's novella in a high school English class, but I didn't remember that much about it other than it being a "What if?" short story. Now that I am older, a bit more secure in the regimen I use for my chronic depression and anxiety, hearing the story retold with Alex's love for quoting Kafka, and seeing the parallels drawn between the author himself, Gregor, and Albert Wesker, made me think of the fear and despair that I feel in the midst of an anxiety attack... and my general mistrust of people as a rule, not allowing people to get too close to me. All the better that they not abuse my services and that I not become a nuisance to them, as I associate displeasure (anger, sadness, boredom, etc.) with being immediately dismissed or abandoned (in any sense of the word), even if it is for a minor offense. I am a people pleaser, even if I tend to be more candid about not being able to handle stress with friends and co-workers than when I was younger.

That's what made me want to distort Herman Kafka dads face so frighteningly. The lore of Resident evil CAN be seen as a mindless survival horror, thankfully though some resources and inspirations from writers like Kafka can keep it interesting!! That's exactly what I was getting at with the lost translations from Japanese to English. See, in English we were told he's a selfish, cocky cliche villain who lacks sympathy or connection, but in Japanese the story surrounding him is told in a MUCH more interesting way. He develops a connection with Alex that is never touched upon in the English version, nor is it mentioned how sorrowful Alex became after his death. Thanks so much btw!! @@BeggyBeggBegg actually they kept how sad alex become after the news of alberts death reached her in the game thru some subtle dialouge and files in the finished game,and im looking forward to ur next vid im sure i will love it,o btw is it me or like ok I have this theory on how village is gonna b most disturbing darkest RE so far as its been stated numerous times,ok so we all know 7 was inspired by slasher horror flicks like Texas chainsaw,and evil dead,what if village is kinda like taking its inspiration from classic horrors like van helsing,and more importantly the horror aspect of nightmare on elm Street (original movies not shitty reboot) why i bring up elm street in particular even tho its a slasher? Well cause its truly psychological horror and trust me I've seen pretty much all classic horror flicks and that one ooof no chill at all like I've seen most disturbin things in that movie series mayb Capcom will show disturbing scenes like this using the hallucination mechanic in the game since most of the disturbin Freddy stuff were seen in dreams not in physical reality,i hope im makin sense here and not confusing u hahaha and if im im rly sorry 😅😅

@@BeggyBeggBegg when i listen the Albert wesker report, i do feel he's relationship with William birkin. he at first wanted to get the t-v virus, but because birkin he didn't. More importantly Albert told William his plan of leaving by playing dead, so he help Albert by giving him serum and William never betrays Albert

I’m absolutely loving these videos! I don’t know if you have, but if you haven’t, you should definitely do some more lore videos about the other games in the series! I would absolutely love to see if there are any real life tales that tie in with Resident Evil 4. The game has its cheesy moments, but the tone is so dark. In the end credits, there are images of the villagers during each phase of the las plagas infection. At first, there are children in the village. But as it goes on, they disappear. What happened to them? There are so many interesting hidden things in that game, in-depth videos like this would be fantastic.

I love how Alex Bested Death..and Became a God..Thru Essence transfer via a Virus that reacts to fear.. Into a child who was nearly incapable of fear.. Natalie.. Genius on Alex's Part.. Albert would've been impressed.. Can't wait for Revelations 3 to come out.. Alex Should be grown by now.. If she's in RE 8 tho..that would be Awsome and would Explain alot.. Also i noticed some Silent Hill Tracks in the background of the video? Did you use any?

The Barron, Desolate , and Haunted Village Vibes are real! Something Horrible has Happened there.. The Mystery of it all is very exciting! I honestly think Alex has Something to do with the situation..

Because of this video I’m about to pick up this book. I started watching these vids and can’t stop. Could it be possible that Barry has become the executioner? Due to his daughters being controlled by Alex Wesker could it be possible he gave up his humanity to try and save them?

I'm glad, I encourage everyone to read Kafka's books. Always thought there was a connection between the Wesker children and The Ashford Children Ashfords were clones of a brilliant ancestor, Wesker children were indoctrinated by Spencer. But all children in the game have the A in the initial of the first name, Albert and Alex Wesker., Alfred and Alexia But Alexia and Albert are similar. Both are power hungry with delusions of godhood Alfred and Alexia are similar. Alfred is subservient and Loyal Alexia, Alex is loyal to her father Spencer. Plus the name Alexia and Alex are too similar to be a coincidence. What are your thoughts on the Metal Gear Series....they Series are similar in ways

Hi, I actually deemed that those aren't necessary to view to understand this video. The framing chapters in this project sufficiently set up what I'm aiming to do. If you want to watch them though, they're in the playlist called "Wesker Children Lore". At the time, they were more so focused on RE Village theories and are no longer relevant. They contain some secret Japanese file translations on Rev2, some of which are explained here already.

Tho there's one thing I dnt get : ok u say that albert was tryina save alex thru uroboros,ok why didn't he just u know brought Alex over to Africa with him if he was aware of her existence and condition at the time to inject her with finished virus b4 he attempted to spread it worldwide,i mean he'd take extra measures to ensure alex was infected with uroboros given she's the only person he cares bout,also on the subject I remember an re 5 file stating spencer kept alex a secret from albert cause he thought albert would hunt alex down and kill her,its why he told him he was the only surviving wesker least thats how I interpreted it at the time,but regardless id love to see umbrella back as the big bad in village and in future sequels,Spencer returning as a main villain once again,fleshed out,and all those big questions regarding the weskers having some light shed on them,I mean tbh I dnt like the villains past umbrellas downfall,I mean sure save for los illuminados thy were ok,but not rly satanically evil like umbrella u know

Well Albert is still consumed by his lust for power and world domination all the same, so he would still use uroboros to infect the mass population and let "natural selection" do its work. But at the same time, he wanted to find a virus that would be compatible with Alex and save her, since the Progenitor virus obviously was not. Also I believed in the English version of RE5, the reason Spencer didn't share the Wesker project and his eugenics stuff with Albert was because he was afraid of Albert overthrowing him, possibly because he was scared (but also proud) of the powers Albert had gained. And this is exactly what Albert did when Spencer told him in the cutscene, he killed Spencer when he found it. Alex isn't really mentioned until her note by Spencer in the re5 gold DLC.

@@BeggyBeggBegg well albert sure hid the whole carin bout alex bit rlyyy well,and ya Spencer ofc didn't wanna b overthrown but he had one miscalculation that caused him his life : the truth bein revealed to any wesker child would instantly break the shall we say extreme hypnotic grip Spencer has over them instantly,mayb spencer knew that and acted dumb knowing albert will kill him,to mayb enact his long game plan of bein reassurected yrs later as a god with no competition either from alex or albert or mayb his arrogance blinded him from that fact and it caused him his life but idk im leanin more towards the 1st cause spencer in his final moment stood b4 albert knowing damn well it mayb his last stand and smirked at albert I mean sure spencer was crazy but he was no senile

Hey Beggy Begg this was a great narration. I just wanted to leave a quick comment here really quickly. I noticed you unfollowed on Twitter and it's totally fine if you had your reasons (I spam a lot of posts with my personal thoughts on there.) I just was hoping it was no hard feelings. Soon as we tried to have you on-board for the RE8 discussion as a guest we never followed up on it. Then when we did the podcast it was great. If we work things out again or if you're interested or not just let me know. We resolved the lack of communication a lot by having a public Discord now.

I actually really enjoy our Resident Evil conversations, and delving into the prospects that involve exploring the lore of this franchise that we all love to pieces. If you don't succeed once, then ask questions. That was my mindset going into this and building some good rapport with you as we talk more about it.
