Hi I'm Wendy a resin artist and crafter.
In this video I am trying out the light bulb mould kit from 'Lets Resin'.
All links are below. The kit contains 2 bulb moulds, 10 end caps and pins and 4 light disks. Also brief instructions and ideas.
I try several different decorative fillings for the bulb moulds and show you some good and not so good ideas.
The results are amazing and I love the moulds ! It's also worth mentioning that the lights go off after 30 seconds if you accidentally forget to turn them off. For me that is a bonus feature.

You don’t need to permanently glue the caps. They have replaceable batteries. Thanks for a marvelous video. Beautiful bulbs

@@Toonpish you work is beautiful. Have a great summer. I made my bulbs and can’t get the lights to work. Either in or out of the mold. I have née molds and their short. So I’ve put penny spacers in and will try two sided tape or temporary glue. Why are my lights not working???? Should they work outside of the bulb assembly?

I had another comment from a lady quite a while ago who also had trouble with her lights. She found there was no batteries in them. Do your ones have batteries??? Contact the seller if you are having problems. Mine just tap on and off. Or perhaps there might be a plastic sleve that needs removing? 👍

Very creative. Love the different ideas. You are a pleasure to watch. I bought that kit in Canada and I only received the one bulb mould not the long one. I might have to enquire about that. I did buy the extra end caps and batteries though.

It came out so pretty. I love the tinsel and the rose my absolute favorite. That's what I want to make for my mother but I have not done it yet. I still don't know how to use a pressure pot. Hoping someone would do a better video for I can understand it better

I do have a video out regarding pressure pot and vacuum chamber but it is not a detailed one as I don’t feel confident to do a tutorial on it. But they are about 😊 The tinsel and rose both sold straight away 😀 they were very popular 👍❤️

You could hang them yes. Each cap has a pin for the end which you could use to hang them with if you glue it in. I have them laying down on the window sill. And every now and then tap them 🤣

Those look great, thanks! Good to hear of the resin made in Sheffield...I bought industrial stuff omg spot the novice...try wish or Joom for wee sparkly chips (meant for nails) to put in for the similar effect of the tinsel - which looked lovely. Ive got the gear, just not the ability yet .

Oh you will have. I have spent plenty of time and money on wish and Ali express, got so many sparkle piece's, too. But when it comes down to it, sometimes simple is best, like the tinsel. I have spent loads on colours and pigments, but mostly choose the same ones 🤣🤣🤣 and sometimes just 3 colours is too many 🤣🤣 have fun with it 😁

Not the one I was using no. Its for deep pours. But other resin can be poured in layers 👍😀

Hi, beautiful work. Do these have built in batteries to light up? How many hours do they last alight?

They have batteries that can be changed, ofc if the ends are glued on that isn't an option. But the end caps are a tight fit without gluing. These particular ones come on when tapped and stay on for 30 seconds. As for longevity, you might have to contact the company direct. Hope that helps 😃

If you don't put the little pin in the bottom and what ever is in the resin part is balanced and it's all straight then they will stand up lol. 😃👌

How did you turn it on and off, you have a hole on top of the light bottom??

Nono you just tap it and it comes on. Tap it and it goes off. It stays on for 30 seconds then turns off itself anyway.

Do the lights only stay on for 30 seconds? That’s what I’d read in some of the reviews on Amazon and looks like is the case from the Let’s Resin video about them. These are a cute concept on LRs part but need to be more versatile. My understanding is lites only stay on for 30 seconds and there’s no way to replace the batteries once you glue the bases onto the “bulbs”. Can you comment on these issues please? THANKS

Yes that is correct. 30 secs. But there is a tight fit between the resin and the end cap, so glue doesn't have to be used. So you could change the battery. Thanks so much for your question. 👍😁

Hi there. The light comes on and stays on for 30 seconds. The battery can be changed, but only if you don't glue the end cap on 😊👍

Should I mix epoxy resin with expoxy hardner to create this?

Yes Two part epoxy resin is exactly that, two parts. One won’t work without the other. I really recommend that you check out some beginner guides to resin before you try this. But you can get there if you are willing to learn the basics😀👍

I glued it with super clue. But had to trim around the resin with a knife first for a snug fit. 👍

The round one takes about 4 ounces the long one takes around 3 ounces. Hopefully that helps 😄👍

It’s a converted paint spray can that you push air into, to create pressure inside. I have a short guide on it and a vacuum chamber in a video. Check it out 😀👍

My daughter (she is 11) got this mold set with her Christmas money. She can't get hers to light up. No directions in hers. Is there something she needs to do to the pieces to get them to light up. Was wondering before she sends it back. Because she really wants to make it.

There are little pieces of clear plastic separating the battery from the casing for transit. Take it out and they will work. That is the only thing I can think of. Thanks 👍

Directions say do not use hear on these molds. I use 99.9% alcohol. My molds love me.

@@Toonpish thank you. In all honesty are my replies rude or just a different point of view. I’m trying to start conversation and I think I need to work on how I’m going about it. I love your work and you definitely have much more experience than me. Without artist like you I would have never had the guts to do epoxy. Question when do you use the term epoxy versus resin. I’m confused why these are used interchangeable. I know when you make a epoxy/resin piece in the mold it’s called casting.

I’m glad I inspire you to create art, that is my intention and I hope to carry on doing so 👍😀 Epoxy resin is a type of resin. There are others too such as UV resin and also Polyurethane resin which I have never used. People tend to use the expression resin to cover everything. Epoxy is a specific type. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask questions, I am no expert but I will help if I can 😀👍❤️
