DIY Resin Light Bulbs! | Easy Resin Craft Ideas

Today I'm making DIY resin light bulbs, which for the most part turned out to be some pretty easy resin craft ideas! Obviously you could add whatever you wanted to these resin light bulbs, but I think the objects I chose worked quite well for my DIY resin light bulbs! If you do ever buy yourself a resin light bulb mould kit, you'll find that they're very easy to use and assemble, however you might need to glue the light bulb fixture to the top of the resin light bulb like I did! And if you end up making a resin light bulb with the alcohol inks, just make sure you don't go overboard with the colours, otherwise you'll end up with a fail like I did! They all look great in the light. Love the rubber duckies and was a bit at how surprised by much I liked the way the beads and marbles turned out. The dark purple one needs a light source behind it to bring those swirls to life. The sight of the rubber duckies made me think of the prank James Vetch pulled on his flatmate a few years ago.

I really loved the duck light and also the string of pink beads in the star one, it was a shame about the dark star one tho eh? I think it's a brilliant idea Ant. Your videos are always so varied it's never boring watching your channel!

The light bulbs moulds? I would just search silicone light bulb moulds with LED light, that should bring a bunch of different ones up, they have loads on Amazon.

Not a fan of flowers, but my nana could be tricked into thinking it's potpourri haha 🤣 the ducky one is freaking amazing! It's so damn cute!! The ink one... I think they'd all look incredible if you could string them all up and have them next to a window, so you get the nice patterns during the day, and light them up on the evenings? The extra ones were super cute too 💞

Brilliant Anthony. I love the second from the left, looks like there’s fish in it. They’re all good, except the far left. Come on Anthony, you must’ve known that putting all them colours together would just produce a brownish colour 🤣. You should’ve put the inks in when the resin is in the mould and use the white to make the colour sink. As usual, I love your videos

Another way to cure UV resin that's ended up tacky is to drop the piece in water and put that under the UV lamp. And the lamp, I recommend an LED one. I'd leave a link to the one I use, but you know how that goes (there's a link in my most recent sophie and toffee video)... I also feel like UV resin has a *super* short lifespan, like weeks from getting it. I feel like it just doesn't cure up properly when it's "old" (and who knows how long this stuff sits in warehouses or on ships). I really like the rubber ducky one, I may have to try that one myself. I think my favorite, though, is the one with the marbles! Thank you for sharing! Keep on crafting!

Such a brilliant idea for a video and for a craft kit! I love the rubber duck one 🐤 I know that when painting nails with UV gel polish, there is a tacky layer at the end which can just be wiped off with isopropyl. Perhaps UV resin is the same?

Ah thanks Emma! I never normally get a tackyness from UV resin, usually it fully sets, but it could work! Might try it another time! 😁

The tacky layer on the uv resin can be normal, wipe it over with isopropyl alcohol and it will take it away x
