I am from Brazil and I can tell you, I am also planning to movo to Paraguay. Too much violence here, the brazilian money is falling and falling , corruption is getting worse and worse. Prices are getting higher and higher , public health is caos, education as well, big cities are even worse, private health care is extremelly expensive. Now the government is legalizing drugs consumption so you can see what it will become..A couple can spend easily 500,00 dollars in supermarket a month. Taxes are very high, that's whay so many people (brazilians as well as foreigners are leaving Brazil and taking their money with them). Sorry to disappoint you.

I read somewhere, or saw on another video that a criminal records check is required and that you may be refused entry if you have a conviction. It was not clear if that was any conviction, or just certain felonies, and what type of check was acceptable. Some clarity on that point may help people.
@adventurefreaksss
@adventurefreaksss 2 ай бұрын
Most countries perform a background check however what felonies determine ineligibility depends on the country and will require research / talking to a legal professional. Thank you for viewing!

Clarity? That is one thing which does not exist that often in South America

I have some experience with this. They are very very strict. So even if you have a minor misdemeanor on record, you might want to look into getting that expunged if possible

Electricity is very inexpensive in Paraguay since Paraguay runs on hydro-power.

Hey bro you look like an irish big time operator the y you dress up. I like your way of interviewing. Im from columbus Ohio i already have my paraguay 2 years temporary residence card plus sedula they both cost me about 600$ government fees plus the fees for the guy who helped me for translation and service $500 and i dont have to live there as long as i visit it once a year for at least as 24 hours in the firest year but after i get tje permanent resident i only have to visit it once every year

So you say with the temporary residency you can be there even for only one day per year and with the permanent residency is still the same? That is one day per year? Where is the difference???
@adventurefreaksss
@adventurefreaksss 24 күн бұрын
@@boricuabro temporary residence permit typically allows you to stay in the country for one year. This permit is usually renewable for additional one-year periods, as long as you continue to meet the requirements for temporary residency.

You left out entertainment this time but added healthcare. Which is huge subject for retirees. Healthcare costs and quality level standards should be in all your interviews. Although that would be difficult for regular people to assess. So maybe get those data from other organizations such as WHO. The utilities part did not include water and garbage. Since she purchased the property then property tax, and price per sq. ft. or mt. would be great. I watched other videos and one of the main things that is a major advantage is tax. Apparently you are not taxed income derived from outside the country. They say that setup a corporation outside Paraguay and transfer your profits in, tax free. This is juxtaposed to Argentina. Where once you become a citizen you are taxed forever and you cannot revoke your citizenship even if you never move back to Argentina. Anyway, great interview as always. Thanks.

@@adventurefreaksss No. Not yet. I'm 59. Next month I will be 60. Then in 18 months I will be eligible to apply for my social security. I currently have a business and I pay myself less than $10k a year. I do this to keep myself in poverty level which allows me to not have to file income tax. I will be closing my business because it is purely hands-on. I will start a new business that will be less hands on and I can hire business managers to handle the business which requires only less than 8 hours per week if that. The SS check I will use as the legitimate steady income to retire in Paraguay, establish residency and obtain another passport. Anyway, on the video I noticed that Sonja is quoting you in Euro. But you put down in USD. Also I made notes when you interviewed Simon but his utilities were 107USD in a rural area and Sonja is at 25euro close to Asuncion. That is a wide discrepancy. I apologize if I seem to be nit picking. Again great interview. Thanks.
