Some update, I bought a heat seating module and connected it below the seat on the driver side where the cable was already in place but not connected anywhere (on the passenger seat the cable was missing). However nothing happened when I pushed the button. There might be 2 reasons for that, either one must connect the 2 heat pads to the heat seating module otherwise it will not send any signal back to the buttons and/or the CEM needs some software update/activation.

I found Volvos article number for the heat seating module: 31268907 (cost ~60 Euros) The 2 heat pads have article number 31413914 and 31292184 (costs ~65 Euros each) not sure which is for the back and which is for the seat. I have not found the article number for the temperature sensor though. The guy I asked couldn't find it so a bit strange. Perhaps it's included when you buy the pad for the seat?

Hey I have an 06 s40 with heated seats and recently got an 08 s40 with no heated seats. Is it possible to swap the seats from the 06 into the new car?

Hello and thanks for posting a great video. I need to replace my climate control panel in my V50. Do you have to have these programmed for each specific car? Can I just swap it out for a new one?

I have a V50 and want to retrofit heated seats to it. Since you already started doing that, maybe you know whether or not all s40/v50/c30 come with heating elements in the seats, even if the car is not equiped with heated seats? Or do you have to install the heating elements/replace the seats with heating elemens?

Did you ever find out what signal is being sent from the CCM to the Temperature Control Unit? Assume some kind of pulse modulated signal of some variety to the yellow/grey wire (for me anyway, I am retrofitting a 2002 S60 seats)

i have a volvo s40 2005. i have a problem with my fog lamp. when i press the button from the front fog is not coming on the light on there. when i press in the back it's coming on. i check the fuses autside and inside but they are ok. any ideea ?

I am curently trying this on my 2005 V50...so i have bought seats with heat inside and modules on them..and the central console..not only the heating buttons..but all the central climate control unit...with all the buttons...so if i change that unit to,it must work right?no need to activate software or anything if i have the central climate control unit.?

Perhaps it would be easier (and cheaper?) to buy a used seat that has heated seats installed and swap seats? Or if you can borrow a seat just to see that it works before buying heat pads, temperature sensor and heat module?

This will be interesting, I have a Volvo C70 and it was not equipped with heated seats from the factory so I'm trying to retrofit that as well. I have bought buttons for heated seats and removed the plastic cover and instead inserted the buttons for heated seats. That was easy. I have cabling under the chairs and also fuses installed for heated seats. However nothing happens when I press the heated seat buttons and I guess I must download software for that and configure with Volvo VIDA? I also guess that the chairs don't have heating seat elements installed?

it is much easier and maybe cheaper to retrofit it just software way like original from factory with VDASH from D5T5.com

I successfully upgraded my stock manual r design seats to electric r design seats AND finally got the heated seat function to work. It is NOT plug & play. The electric powered seats fit seamlessly and so does the harness. My 2012 C30 already came equipped with the fuse (located in fuse box under glove compartment). Here is how i did it: After you swap the seats, you will need a software "update" - as your car's parameters are not toggled to to have seat heaters on. I purchased a DiCE clone...and hired a friend from the Netherlands named Frans Kruiswegt - Frans Rules! You need to update the clone's firmware in order to work with VDASH - the firmware costs about $100. Once the firmware is updated, you need to crack your CEM PIN number so that you can re-configure your car's information settings. I had to pay $100 for a friend to hack into volvo servers to achieve this for P1 car. After you get the PIN, you need a VDASH PRO ACCOUNT in order to order the software for the seat heaters. Once your upload the software with vdash thru your dice with your vehicle's pin, the lights for your heat seaters will turn orange when you press them. I used VIDA afterwards to calibrate my CCM unit since it had new software, and now it is working. I chose the very highest temperature settings and they are great. There are 2 heaters, one on the butt area, and the other on the lower back area. I ordered a used CCM waterfall unit off of ebay which had the seat heater buttons, as they are no longer in stock on Volvo dealers sites. It was a long journey, but I am so proud.
