She fucking cut a women's hand off with no hesitation. She almost slice a guy in half if the grand inquisitor didn't stop her. Like..... nobody told you to do all that Reva, your superiors even FORBID you to do anything harsh, but you did it anyway. So how the fuck could I sympathize with this psychopath again? xD

As I expected, Reva's motives make no sense. She saw that Vader killed her friends, therefore...she is angry at Obi-Wan who trained him for not saving her? (Why didn't he just say "I was on Utapau, attacked by clones"?) And therefore she serves Vader, hunts all remaining Jedi, tries to kill them, chops hands off and tortures a child to find the Rebels? She is a horrible person and I cheered when she was stabbed...but then she lived.

Reva suffers from what is known as “Steven Universe Writing”. What that means is that you’re supposed to feel bad for her despite her being extremely evil throughout the majority of the show. Also she was meant to die in the initial script but that was changed.

The part where she's like "Where were you? Why didn't you save us?" He SAID NOTHING. He should've clapped back with "I was off world being a General in a fucking war, where I was almost killed myself by a shitload of clones, some of whom I considered close friends. Anakin's turn to the dark side took me by surprise just as much as anyone else and back in my day (the prequels) we couldn't just teleport across the galaxy for the sake of plot convenience."

If Disney really wanted to write a character like this, they needed to do a few major steps first: 1: Only have the character do evil when ordered by their superior. 2: Only draw attention to oneself when necessary. 3: Have the character help the people in secret, whether they be Jedi or civilian being oppressed by the empire. 4: Have the character show GENUINE remorse for what had been done on the road to revenge. Anymore BASIC writing I can do for Disney?

Reva is a walking time paradox who should have died during Order 66, there’s no way Disney could convince me that a youngling could survive a lightsaber wound when she barely had much knowledge in the force to even live through that. Also we all know that Vader would have NEVER let someone who knew who he was originally walk around breathing very long unless they were incredibly useful to the Empire like Thrawn or Tarkin, while Reva is more of a liability than anything else. What’s worse is that in the original script for the show (which was originally a film) when she was SUPPOSED to die by Vader’s hand; she actually did have better motivations for why she joined up with the Inquisitiors and her death would have been a fitting end to her character, so the fact that she lived through Order 66 reeks of KK’s influence.

Before watching the finale, I was seriously having no idea why she wasn’t gutted like a fish by Darth Vader and her Inquisitor superiors for her constant incompetence and defiance of orders. Remember in TESB, Ozzel (the guy who Darth Vader forced choked through the screen) was killed because of his implied history of incompetence, defiance and stupidity. One of his actions being “jumping out of lightspeed too quick” while in pursuit of the Rebels because “he felt surprise was wiser”. Veers (the guy inside the AT-AT who leads the attack on Hoth) tries to defend him, Vader replies back “he is clumsy as he is stupid”. The Empire doesn’t tolerate failure and insubordination just like how most fascist-like organizations wouldn’t as well. Of course I finally watched the finale and I realize why.

Actually she was stabed worse than Quagon. Quagon was stabed straight on. Reva was stabed on her knees by a downward thrust, thus impaleling several different organs.

Congrats for mentioning how Disney ripped off (no one that i heard of has mentioned this) Trilla's premise as a character with Reeva. So not only they copied it but also failed miserably at it, thanks to SWJ:FO having competent writers who have watched and loved SW (something totally unknown to the Kenobi ones) Trilla was actually an engrossing, memorable and tragic character. Reeva on the other hand well no words do her justice to be honest..

I'm a 49 year old black male STAR WARS fan. When I tried to talk about it to my mom, aunts, cousins and black female classmates, I was shunned and dismissed. What the f*CK is Disney and Hollywood thinking. THIS isn't going to draw in the black female crowd.

Screw this series. Vader orders the entire ship to turn around for Obi-Wan, letting the rebels go, (instead of using a magnetic beam, or sending tie-fighters, or just keep firing...)... but ends up getting into his shuttle and flying after it himself , thus missing out on the rebels for no reason at all. Obi-Wan trusts Leia to some random rogue who has already seeded his transmitter... The duel with Vader is miserable. They wave their swords like baseball bats in episode 9, and the Force has generally turned into an anime - they crush rocks and make craters in the ground, but they can’t break each other’s bones in the same way ... they can withstand the blows of multi-ton boulders ... Obi-Wan, without jokes, becomes a god thanks to the power of friendship and lifts weight much more than Yoda ... at some point he hits Vader with the HILT of the sword ... cuts his back, but that doesn’t paralyse him ... and most importantly, he doesn’t finish him off for the second time, although he himself said his friend is dead... Vader does not call the cruiser to shoot down Obi-Wan's ship, but it turns out that he has a hyperdrive, which makes the whole last episode even more pointless, since he and Leia could fly to Alderaan on it all this time already at the end of episode 4 .. . Owen and Beru do not set any traps for Reva in the doors, they only shoot her one at the time, do not catch up with her on a speeder, do not evacuate on the speeder, do not call the local police, the same Jabba the Hutt (with the promise of money), and Luke is advised to run on foot into the desert, to the Tuskens... Apparently Vader just left Reva a ship…Reva with a hole in her HEART can easily fight, run and carry weights ... And finally, she, who cuts off the hands of all those who disagree, throws knives at people, kills everyone in her path, hunts the Jedi trying to kill them, tortures a 10-year-old child , suddenly cannot kill Luke, because he sees himself in him (but not in Leah) ... by the way, why? Does she know he's Vader's son? How? And Obi-Wan forgives her, although he saw what she was doing and Tala died because of her... Now the whole Empire knows that Bail Organa communicates with Obi-Wan, they are looking for him all over the galaxy, but at the same time Obi-Wan quietly flies to Alderaan to chat with Leia... Obi-Wan communicates with Luke, although Owen told him in A New Hope that he died at the same time as his father ... Qui-gon, it turns out, can appear without any meditation, but the whole series did not do this ... As a result - Obi-Wan, Owen, Beru, Bale failed their missions to protect children, and they are only alive because the Empire and Vader are even more incompetent, and Reva suddenly became kind ... and now we are waiting for a series about her ... Thank you Disney, now you've ruined every single character in the original trilogy. Star Wars is long dead, and there's no more room for nails in the coffin.

Reva is a nightmare of a character

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. This is where we have reached folks with Disney Lucasfilm, they have become insanity.

When Vader's on the scene, you feel terrified by the aura emanating from him. You see how he is in the Original Trilogy as well as other things like The Force Unleashed, Rebels when he and Ahsoka fought, the scene in Rogue One and many others in the EU. When Reva's on the scene, all I see is an angry woman child who shouldn't be an Inquisitor and her hate towards Obi-Wan makes no sense (her logic of blaming him because he taught Anakin is so stupid. If someone got shot with a gun, would you blame the person who shot it or the people who manufacture guns? That's her logic).

For anyone wondering, this is 100% the writing’s fault and not the acting. I’ve seen Moses Ingram in the Queen’s Gambit and she had a great character, well acted too.

~ Reva is the female Kylo Ren - an obnoxious, bratty, angrily screaming woman-child. ~ How she survived getting impaled at the temple makes no sense. Anakin, strong with the force, didnt sense her still alive? None of the clones/troopers at the temple afterwards didnt see her bleeding to death, on the floor "hiding?" ~ Her utter trash attempt to "kill" Vader was the epitome of an incompetent fail. ~ How she all of a sudden changes her mind about killing a child (and Vaders son, Luke, of all children, mind you) doesn't make a lick of sense.

Nothing against the actor, the character was just terribly written. I feel sorry for her but not for the lazy writers.

Robot Head brought this up but it says something when the other Inquisitors would return Leia and that Reva would do objectively worse things. Kidnapping a senator's daughter if anything would inspire rebellion. If the Grand Inquisitor and Vader were in character she would be dead after the first time she disobeyed an order.

I can't be convinced that Reva survived the Jedi Purge at the temple, it's just too deep within the realm of implausibility when things are considered: -She was a /youngling/, a lower position than a Padawan; and judging by the opening sequence of the first episode, still in first stage of lightsaber training, too. It's hard to believe she would be strong enough in the Force to keep herself alive, let alone know the means of how. -She was stabbed through the abdomen by a lightsaber-a plasma bladed weapon that's capable of metling through metal meant to withstand blaster bolts. I think it goes without saying that it destroyed her stomach, and if it somehow missed, it definitely left critical injuries that she wouldn't be able to heal quick enough, given the circumstances. -She got impaled by Anakin/Darth Vader. You know, the one assigned to make sure every, single, Jedi was killed at the temple? Disregarding the fact that Anakin likely would've sense that she still has life left in her, really implying that he wouldn't be thorough enough to at least make sure the younglings were killed swiftly, seeing as he demonstrated a degree of hesitation in Revenge of the Sith. -Even if she survived impalement, which she did, and Anakin overlooked her, she's now "playing dead" as she put it. So she's lying there, barely holding on to life for...what, until the temple is mostly cleared of clone troopers? Cause otherwise, the writers are expecting people to believe that the critically wounded youngling managed to sneak around a bunch of highly trained soldiers without being noticed; and if she did wait until just about all the clones had left the temple, then how did she manage to hold out for that long?

While Holdo is by far the worst, Reva was fairly garbage. She's a poorman rehash of Trilla from Jedi Fallen Order, except devoid of the poise, authority, threat or tragedy. She's loud, obnoxious, one-dimensionally angry, even the more useless Inquisitors berate her, yet she gets away with everything until her laughable attempt to kill Vader. Her backstory is over the top sappy drama. She is, simply put, female Kylo Ren. And on top of that, she survives. Like.....who would even care about her except shoving her in garbage comics like they did with Qi'ra and the Knights of Ren ?

The “Reva found a link to Bail Organa in the archive” is actually worse than what you stated. Anything after Order 66, wouldn’t be in the archives. Up until Order 66, Obi & Anakin were BFF’s. Anakin(Vader) is going to know a whole hell of a lot more about Kenobi’s know associates than anything that could be found in the “archives”. The show writer’s are incapable of keeping straight what characters know & don’t know! Also, if Reva knows Anakin’s Vader and also knows Obi didn’t know Anakin’s still alive or had reason to think Anakin was dead, then she knows what happened on Mustaphar, because she has to know what happened on Mustaphar in order for Kenobi to have a reason to think Anakin is dead. This also totally destroys her hating Kenobi. A better plot, would be Reva’s crazy and consumed with revenge and is trying to find Kenobi, because she’s knows that she’s not strong enough to kill Vader and believes Kenobi is the only one strong enough to exact her revenge on Vader. However, there’s no way in hell a Female Disney Star Wars character will ever say “they’re not strong enough to do something”. This also would make Reva a more intelligent, manipulative, and just a irredeemable of a character, but at least she’s be a good “evil” character!

I don't why Disney thinks having a female character with complicated motives for their actions makes them compelling. Also I have to mention I'm a black american, for all those die hard Revs fans. Here are the problems with her character. 1. For you to even be able to let Anakin keep you alive you'd have to be someone close to him like Ashoka or Luke. So there's no way in he'll Vader would let her live. 2. She assumes Bal Organs and Obi are friends despite that never being shown. And she assumes that they'd still be in contact t after a decade. 3. She blames obi wan for not helping her, yet would've known he was in a battle on Utapau. 4. Assumes that Bail won't just report his daughter's kidnapping to the empire. 5. Attacks Vader when he's not busy instead of when he's distracted with the ship. 6. Somehow assumes Luke is Vader's son based on a broken and vague message. (You could say she'd ask for a Skywalker, but it's hard to believe Owen and Beru would've kept that public knowledge.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the thing that personally cemented Reva as the worst Star Wars character for me; the fact that she has been retconned to be the reason that Luke was able to go on to be the hero of the OT. By sparing him, Reva is now the reason Luke was able to go on to become a jedi, destroy the Empire and save his father. Everything that happened is now, at least partially or entirely, due to her actions. All this was possible because she committed the brave and selfless act of not murdering a defenseless child in cold blood. That's on par, if not worse, than Rey stealing the legacy and name of the Skywalker family.

It certainly is a hard contest for worst character. I suppose I don’t hate her as much as the others because I’m numb at this point. Objectively and on a meta sense she is the worst. But subjectively I still hate Holdo and Kylo Ren more. I probably would hate Reva more if I wasn’t so used to badly written characters. Also I imagine if I played Fallen Order I would be more pissed at what a lazy rip off she is.

Can we talk about the fact that this is the second time Disney has done an actor of color dirty in Star Wars? Like first it was John (Finn) now it’s Reva’s actress (who’s name I genuinely can’t remember.) I think that’s the biggest sin. There’s a lot of ways that they could have made her an interesting character, maybe even make an empire-themed show with her as the MC, but god damn this was absolutely disgusting on Disney’s part. That and their dirty race card they seem to play to try and justify terrible writing.

Call it dumb but I personally thought Boba fett would've made a far more interesting side villain in this show, Boba would probably have remembered kenobi as the dude that beat up his dad and would go for round 2 with em, and honestly Boba is far more of a threat then some chump inquisitor. Also him going up against obi-wan is far more possible then some youngling who apparently survives being impaled by vader twice.

Let’s be honest here, Disney just needed to meet their diversity quota. Soooo they conjured up this character and gave her motives that make no sense. Or it would have made sense if the people who are making Star Wars now were actual FANS of the franchise which they are not. And I am not against introducing new characters, if they are written in well. Just look at Jedi Fallen Order for example. But the mental gymnastics to explain why this character is the way she is to justify her being in the story just makes my head hurt.

They managed to make an even more two-dimensional character than the Disney trilogy offered and they had an entire series to flesh her out. Truly an astounding achievement.

Reva is certainly one of the characters ever made. The actress is acting and her plot is there. The character is in it and the dialogue is spoken with normality. The parkour is absolutely a parkour, and the running is definitely a running. I even shed a tear when Reva said "It's Revin time" when she got stabbed. Ultimately my character of all time.

Man i don’t even follow Star Wars that much, the only one of the films I’ve seen more than once is episode III. But even I, not even a fan, can say it’s bullshit that some random youngling could survive a face to face interaction with the guy who killed everyone, and then somehow end up working for him later.

The one thing I kinda disagree with is that Reva was developed to be lightning rod for race bating and sympathy reviews. I think the out of touch leftist wierdos that came up with her really thought they were gonna nail making an iconic diversity character with her... and then they hit the editing room, watched the footage and said "oh sh*t, this character eats balls, better pull the race card." Also IMO, Finn is the worst Disney Star Wars character ever created. At least with Reva, they really wanted her to be iconic. Finn was just a check box. They didn't even bother fleshing out his backstory or giving him an arc. Why, because they didn't care. He was just there to say "look, we have a black guy."

Kal's severed connection is implied to have been involuntary if I remember correctly as I think he describes it as having been damaged after the events of Order 66 and he isn't entirely sure why it happened. Going off memory so correct me if I'm wrong.

Imagine for me if you will, if Reva was a youngling on the verge of becoming a padawan at the time of Order 66. Due to the war she is exceptionally young, perhaps a slightly younger age than Asoka when she was made to be a padawan, about 13-14. She displays a talent with the force and promise for the future. Yet the war has tainted her. Perhaps she has met knights and masters that died in combat. Perhaps she has been around Jedi like Anakin who feel limited in their capacity to help protect the galaxy by the Jedi way. She feels strongly about this despite her age as she deeply cares for her fellow younglings and is protective of them as she views it as her duty as the most capable in the class to protect them. She is being lectured by her master in front of the other younglings about how her strong emotions are dangerous when Order 66 begins. They are amongst the first to be gunned down by the clones. Reva is gravely injured and left on the ground as the clones march over the bodies of her friends. In their hurry to maintain the element of surprise they don’t notice her survival. As the Jedi are massacred throughout the temple, Reva feels the fear and death all around her as she clings to the force to keep herself alive. The desperation for survival pushes her to the dark side and she gives into the grief and rage she feels at the loss of all she has ever known. In the aftermath of Order 66 the emperor wanders around the temple after feeling a presence inside. Admits the cacophony of fear he could not sense the emerging darkness inside Reva but in the aftermath the lingering hatred has gained his attention. He finds Reva and evaluates her worth. He is intrigued by her potential as he senses the trauma of Order 66 is forever engraved into her and decides to take her as one of the first Inquisitors. The Reva of the show would be one of vengeance and conflict, despising Vader and Palpatine as the orchestrators of Order 66 but also the Jedi order as weak fools who did not have the will the fight the war themselves and created the dependency that led to their betrayal. Her goal is to kill Vader and Sidious with little regard for what will come after as she is haunted by nightmares of Order 66, a condition worsened by her psychological torment from Inquisitor training. She views her actions as serving the purpose of avenging Order 66. She excuses every act of cruelty and brutality she commits as a means of advancing her position so she may one day get a chance to kill either Vader or Palpatine. Her greatest source of conflict is her fear that her actions may be selfish in nature. She feels the strain on her psyche from the inquisitor induction process, her usage of the dark side, and the scaring damage her presence in the force suffered from Order 66. She is prone to violent outbursts, sadistic tendencies and sometimes fantasises about ruling the empire the correct way, as the ruthless guardian she believes the galaxy truly needs to stave off corruption. She is torn between a dependence on her belief that her core motives are right, that she is the force of righteous vengeance she has relied upon to live with the endless traumas she has endured and a constant self doubt and fear of corruption that may one day over take her and turn her into the same evil she is fighting so desperately to remain lesser than and destroy.

Just from the title, I know I agree. Rey was basically a plank of wood, but Reva is just outwardly the modern feminist caricature, all too on the nose. You just know Reva is how KK would conduct herself if she could get away with it. Unquestionable villainy, framed as justifiable or sympathetic by a flimsy pretext. What Reva has done to countless innocents, KK has done to Star Wars. No era of it is safe.

The idea advanced by this show that Obi- Wan didn't know Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker were one and the same is ludicrous. At the end of episode 3 Obi Wan sees the holotapes of Anakin killing younglings in the Jedi Temple. As part of that holotape he SEES Sidious tell Anakin "Rise, Darth Vader". Shortly after that, YODA refers to "Darth Vader" in the presence of both Obi Wan and Organa. Kathleen Kennedy will go down as one of the most hated people in entertainment history for the woke joke she has made out of one of the most beloved IP's of all time.

She's a kid's first take of an edgy OC for their fanfic. I mean, she knows who Vader is, she just 'happens' to pick Owen and assumes he's harboring a jedi out of a WHOLE CROWD of people, when there were no clues or hints to that, and she is constantly angry and loud and does NOT get killed when the grand inquisitor would have cut off her head in episode one because of insubordination. All that was left is a 'twist' to reveal she was actually the daughter of Anakin. Like, look at the facts and tell me she's not someone's idea of a super edgy OC.

Obi Wan always knew Annakin was Vader, and that Vader was alive since Mustafar. He knew it, it was no surprise. Besides everybody in the galaxy generally knowing about Darth Vader being around and word of mouth, the Jedi know what's going on through the force.Yoda says in Empire he watched Luke grow up on Tatooine and he was on Dagoba the whole time.

Not only did Reva somehow made a connection between Bail and Obi-Wan (which is at best just a semi-common friendship between a senator and a Jedi who were basically servants of the senate), but somehow concluded that Bail would try to send Obi-Wan instead of any other living Jedi he was friends with, or even do something smart such as inform the Imperial Senate that his *daughter* and *heir* of his world was kidnapped by thugs, hire bounty hunters, send his private army. Heck if he made any amount of noise about it, the Grand Inquisitor would have likely been ordered by the Emperor himself (you know since he still needs to keep the senate happy at this point of his reign) to have the daughter of an influential senator released, because if it turns out the Empire was behind the kidnapping or someone figures he contacted a Jedi for help, you know known traitor to the empire, he, his family and the entirety of his planet would be likely considered traitors by the Empire.

Hopefully this and the situation surrounding Disney and Lucasfilm will cause an shift to put the product back in the right hands of Goerge or someone who has experience with Star Wars..only one can dream

And then fire an actual strong female character that is beloved like Gina Carano. Then they make their strong female characters get stabbed several or shot several times (like Reva and what's her name in Book Of Fett) and manage to survive. Yet Fett needs a Bacta tube indefinitely, along with the Marshal.... Makes sense.

I sort of disagree about Rey. Her arc was all over the place, but her character traits were at least clear and she was likeable. A lot of that has to do with Daisy Ridley and how well she played her. I wholeheartedly disagree about Kylo Ren sucking. He’s not only the best character in the sequels, he’s one of the best Star Wars characters period. I will die on this hill.
