Meghan has a rich person's idea of what it was like to "grow up poor" - and that's probably why Harry bought her story. He doesn't know what being poor really means either.

Yet, this is the man/child who’s supposed to have so much empathy for the poor of Africa and consider it his ‘second home’. Bet he has decent accommodation when he visits these places, bet he has the most sausages to make up for his deprived childhood

@@sandrasmith2465He didn't win the lottery; he just made very good money. Tom Markle Jr. admitted that he made up that lie in order to explain why Meghan got everything she wanted while Tom and Samantha got very little from their dad growing up. The truth is that when Tom and Samantha were kids, Thomas Sr. was spending his off-work time partying and getting high.

Reading her stupid book about the wonderful relationship between fathers and sons to a class full of deprived children from overwhelmingly single mother homes, was perhaps Megan's peak moment of insensitive shallowness.
@cheeredenise

I just don’t know if I agree with that. I think a book about Fatherhood and the importance of having a father echos something they already understand having existed without one. Each of those children have to grow up and decide what they want out of life and making a home life that was different from their own is ok to contemplate. Just because we are experiencing a hard thing doesn’t mean everything we intake has to reflect that existence. We can be capable of imaging better without it risking our sanity now.

I’m not American but I think Uvalde (I hope that’s how you spell it) and walking across the graves of veterans, both times with camera crews to display how compassionate they are, tops this peak of insensitivity. But all those incidents and more show how much she lives in her own little bubble of entitlement and thinks nothing of riding roughshod over other people’s feelings. I also believe she was always like that and not just since she married H

@@playfair9401 I saw the KZfaq video of the black mother of one of the Harlem students and she was fuuuurious. She said the school had written to them prior to the visit and required that they "donate" $5 for the book. The woman couldn't believe that Harry and Meghan (or the school) would ask predominantly single moms who could barely afford food for themselves and have to send their children to a school where lunches were paid for by the State, to fork out a precious FIVE DOLLARS for a "stupid book" (I think that's what she said) of bad poetry. She also panned the wilted vegetables and fruits that Harry and Meghan donated to the school. Needless to say, Harry and Meghan's censors immediately went to work and KZfaq took down the woman's video the day after. And the washer and dryer were donated by P&G along with detergent and fabric conditioner. Remember, Meghan was briefly affiliated with them after Megxit because she wouldn't shut up about the dishwashing liquid story. The partnership didn't last beyond that year.

I never realised I grew up “ poor “ as a kid. Hand me downs from my cousins were great. One birthday party for my entire childhood was a stellar exciting memory. My Saturday morning job at 14 gave me money for treats after I paid some to my mother for board. I will never forget the joy when my father shared me opening the envelope which contained my offer of scholarship without which university was beyond us. But my parents never let me feel we were poor. Some people had more than us- some less. We tried to help those where we could.

I think it is so funny that no one talks about Meghan's reaction in the Netflix series to learning that Jason Knaff had come forward in her case. Instead of saying, "oh my gosh, I forgot I did e-mail with Jason about that" she just yells at Harry "THIS IS YOUR BROTHER". It was so telling and I have never heard anyone say anything about it.

Have you read the children's book Charles wrote, started off as a story he made up for Andrew and Edward when they were young. Charles has not only written books but also acted ( Cambridge Footlights ) believe he was quite good. Why Harry ever thought the family would be in awe of Meghan being an actor with the great actors they have mixed with, and in some cases genuine friends with. Meghan never grew up poor, would have better if she had had a Saturday job like most of us did. Interestingly Prince Edward encouraged his daughter to get a holiday job, she worked in the local garden center before going to university, by the way she is entitled to be called Princess, she was born a princess, but parents never used it and it appears she has no intention of using it now she has reached the age of 18

If MM worked at age "13", around 1994, social security withholding are taken out, and social security has records of all withholdings. So all MM has to do is show social security printout of her record just for that year. She does NOT need to show amount, but just record that she worked. Again neither MM or PH have NEVER taken any legal action against Tom Bower,which go's to show how truthful his book is.

Love the dead-on graphic description of M&H’s moral state. I honestly can’t imagine how these two will end… much less their poor children. It’s a live action morality tale of the old school - real Brothers Grimm stuff (not revised for Disney. ) I shudder to think and honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Good and bad always even out in the world - large acts or small. We don’t realize until the whale eats us - then if we’re lucky, we get a chance to do better. But the piper always gets paid.

I didn’t read “The Bench”…I did one better and had it read to me by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, herself. On KZfaq. Because, of course she would do that. (And should we be at all surprised that the book, itself, bears her title? The one she didn’t want.) The melodramatic way she read it…I mean…you just know she thought she had penned a masterpiece. I can envision her draped across her desk, the staircase, hearth, wherever…and self-appraising tears flowing down her cheeks as each word was written. I think she wrote a children’s book because she wants to have a check mark by every category in entertainment. She must really be a horrible singer, or I feel we would have had a song by now.

I would recommend listening to KZfaqr, "Lost Beyond Pluto" for a legal insight into MM's case against ANL, the Warby ruling and the subsequent rulings in the Court of Appeal. She is a young lawyer and certainly no fan of MM, but because she is professional she leaves her biases at the door. I understand why many think that the case was mishandled but that's because the law is complicated and we aren't lawyers. I was disappointed when MM won but I wanted to know why and so found a legal forum where this was being discussed. Not a single lawyer or barrister thought the Warby ruling was incorrect. I subsequently found the KZfaqr I mentioned above who does discuss this (and Samantha Markle's case) in great detail. The case had two aspects: privacy and copyright. The privacy aspect is too complex for a comment section but the copyright is really straightforward: ANL published 49 different extracts of MM's letter to her father, which amounted to almost 50% of it. That breached copyright law - that's it, plain and simple. Warby couldn't rule in ANL's favour without the risk of setting a precedent that would adversely affect all content creators. I don't doubt that MM started this by putting her own content into the public domain via 'friends', and I don't doubt that it was manipulative, but that doesn't really alter the fact that ANL didn't stick to the bits already in the public domain, acquired the letter from Thomas Markle and reproduced almost half of it.

Poor kids in Africa? How about poor kids in Appalachia? We NEVER ate in a restaurant EVER growing up, let alone $4.99 Sizzler. That would have been like being taken to a fancy country club, something we'd talk about and remember our entire lives. Once we got to go to the county fair. My sisters and I collected pop cans and bottles from the trash at the car wash all summer and turned them in for money just to have enough to go to the fair & each get a hot dog on a stick, a giant lemon shake-up that we shared & a funnel cake. Some rich city lady saw us & was charmed because we said "thank you" and "yes ma'am" bought us each ride wristbands. Best day of our lives. And I wouldn't trade it especially if not experiencing that meant I might have grown up to be insincere, ungrateful and greedy.

Lunch cost 90 cents when I was a kid at school. My parents literally punished me for giving the change to another student, that was trying to collect the 90 cents so she could eat. My Grandmother used to take me places, just to spite my Mom, knowing we couldn't afford to go to those places. Here in NY you could work at 14, if your parents signed off on it, mine refused though because they didn't have the time to drive me to work every day.

Histrionic personality disorder (HPD) is a mental health condition marked by intense, unstable emotions and a distorted self-image. The word "histrionic" means "dramatic or theatrical." For people with histrionic personality disorder, their self-esteem depends on the approval of others and doesn't come from a true feeling of self-worth. They have an overwhelming desire to be noticed and often behave dramatically or inappropriately to get attention. Definitely Markle!

The 40 x 40 thing was directly copied from Baracks 60 x 60 for his 60th bday. Harry's wife obvs heard it and thought, hmm, that sounds like a good one for me. No work involved!! But she is so dim she failed to explain it in a way that it would have worked, a bit like a pyramid scheme. So she picks 40 friends (Inc herself), and each of the 40 "celebrities" chooses at least ONE woman who needs 40 minutes support to get back into work (Baracks version was better...they get one hour! So why didn't she convert it to 40 hours? Well, because then she would have had to put 40 hours in herself, and the whole idea is that SHE, lazy person that she is, has to do nothing, other than start the ball rolling!) Then each of the 40 celebrities each picks 40 "friends" and they each in turn give 40 hours (not mins) . And Archewell could have kept a log of the "successes". I really don't think Harry's wife is very bright. She tackled this like a true grifter. What's the maximum benefit for my minimum input...... if she really thought it was so easy to do, then why didn't she try supporting 40 women for just 40 minutes each and then seeing how many got back to work as a result!!

Nelson Mandela originated this idea... 27 minutes to remember the 27 years he spent in prison. They both copied the idea . Just as "Invictus" was originally an idea for a film produced in South Africa regarding the story of the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. I suspect that is where Harry got the inspiration for the name Invictus games he copied from the Worrior Games in the US

Labour rights and support for parents in the US is very poor compared to the the legal frameworks in the UK and Europe. Most big businesses offer better rights than legally required of them. But her approach was not how to change that, and what would she understand about it anyway? Has she ever worked 9 to 5, evenings, shifts?

MM just shoots her mouth off. IF ONLY MM WILL EDUCATE _HERSELF_ !!! Are there only big businesses in US. . What about small employers with a workforce of less than 50? In some economies labour law has killed smallmedium business. and/or encouraged discrimination or black market activity? The PLATITUDES🤢🤬

I've heard a few uk moms actually criticize the framework because it's made it more beneficial for moms to put their kids in daycare than to give them subsidies to care for their children themselves. Is that true?
@clareoclareo2626

Interesting to discuss this stuff. I was a bit confused re the description, it doesn't ring true...so to explain. We get lots of maternity leave, annual leave, paternity leave, free health care ( including ZERO costs to give birth in a hospital ) flexible rights; and some funded nursery school hours to help parents return to work/ fund nursery where they can't afford it as early learning and socialising is important. We don't subsidise people to parent, it's their choice to be a parent. The benefits system is critised as some people scrounge for years and don't work but that is mainly about employment / social issues. It's complex stuff but basically meghan has no authority on this stuff.
@MirandaSinistra

@@clareoclareo2626 That's fair. The complaint I usually hear is families wanting tax breaks to help ease the economic burden of caring for their children. I don't think they want to get paid to be moms. But it seems weird that the state would rather pay day care workers to do the job of the moms instead of giving a tax break for women to stay home and raise their children.
@clareoclareo2626
@clareoclareo2626 Жыл бұрын
That is definitely not the situation. A few hours a week or a morning in a nursery school with loads of other kids playing in sand and singing nursery rhymes is not replacing what a parent does.....if that is, that's concerning. Tax breaks would be great, but I recognise that we get so much here. The things we get, like lots of leave, means we can take care of our own baby and not be forced back to work so quickly ( and pumping in the office) So it's the other way round from what you have been told. The onus is on helping parents to take care of their own child.
