Good Job John! Pegasus is another one of those C&D blends that is so good and for some reason just does not get much attention. I loved hearing the background on Bob R. He was a tobacco genius.

I miss you John. A few years ago I told you I wanted sweetened black cavendish in this. Well I added some Captain Black Dark to this and it is amazing. I know you're smoking your HB in your Friday Savinelli up in heaven.

Bob Runowski passed away on July 24, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA at the age of 63. A great loss to the piping community> R.I.P Bob

I smoke Pegasus at least every other day, I love it. It’s almost perfect, smooth, stout, creamy and rich, earthy and just sweet enough, and totally natural. It’s just so pure and good, I fell in love with it after the first bowl and immediately ordered two pounds. Fantastic stuff! It’s kind of like Tolkien’s description of hobbits, you can smoke it every day for a year and then even then it can surprise you. Great review John!

I love Pegasus. The late Bob Runowski was an amazing tobacco blender! Just look at Haunted Bookshop or Old Joe Krantz.

I feel like you made that video for me!!! The way I ask you about what Burley blends you think I would like, and my favorite pipe style is the Bulldog! I've been doing a lot of research on Pegasus, especially reading Tobacco reviews.com. I think the only thing I would want to change is having sweetened black Cavendish instead of unsweetened. I have been going nuts with Carter Hall. I bought a tub two weeks ago and it's half gone already LOL. I just ordered another tub tonight, I think I'm going to get back on P & C site and order me some Pegasus!

Haven't had that one, but I'm a fan of Bob's. I'd have to agree the right Virginia, Burley, Black Cavendish combo doesn't need a topping to be good. I had an interesting on the other day somebody sent me. RO series Fire Storm blended by Russ. Its got Dark Fired Kentucky, Perique, and Virginia. Very interesting to me. Very nice interplay happening in that one. Give that one a try if you can. Good video John.

Big and burly is one of my favorites. I tried it after hearing you talking about it in past videos. To me it has the perfect amount of latakia.

Great review i know i wil not try this one. Looking for sweeter tobacco's not with to mutch sugar i am thinking to order red virginia just to try it on its own. Want to scan my pallet. Dont wanna smoke drugstore tobacco. They ruin my tonge and taste. I did not like the H.B. but if i smoke it realy slow i kinda tasted some sweetness in the background. But the peppery taste back in my throat does not do it for me. And i could taste sigar leaf in the midle. I have jet to open up my tin of Canal Boat hoping that it's more mellow than H.B. :D Oh, yeah i did notice that when i smoking a long stemed pipe the H.B. is more mellow. I like this adventure of trying new tobacco blends to see wat i like and dislike. Your reviews are helping me a great deal. Thank You for that. Greetings,, Kitty.

I love this stuff and the history you provide is just great. The context makes it even better. This blend reminds me of dark chocolate. And the touch of black cavendish really smooths it out in my mind. A touch sweet but also earthy and creamy

I seem to gravitate more and more towards white burley and bright virginia leaf. I too like the interplay in between these two tobacco profiles. What surprises me the most is how the bright virginia leaf loses its intrinsic properties giving way to something new. The sort of nutty profile of the burley leaf combined with the sweetness and citric notes of the virginia tobacco is something to die for. Pair that with a dash of unsweetened black cavendish, and you'll end up with a blend which is not an aromatic, but that is kind of reminiscent of it.

I never tried Pegasus but I have tried Big and Burley and liked it so much I bought a pound of it. Good review, thanks.

I often call Pegasus, Big an Burley's little brother. While the components differ the joy with a cup of coffee compares greatly. Or BnB light lol. Not making light of the master blenders creation by no means. These two blend are spot on for my tastes. Thanks for the reviews. Happy smoking.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to give it a try. As a new pipe smoker, I recently bought Haunted Bookshop and Plum Pudding and at first didn't get them. But I jarred them up for a few weeks and they've started to grow on me. Yesterday was a good Haunted Bookshop day and today I'm on Plum Pudding and quite enjoying them.

I smoked Pegasus,and i quite liked it ,however the Haunted Bookshop is by my opinion King Bob Runowsky s greatest blend,it is part of my life ,doesnt matter what i smoke ,but the Sun doesnt set upon my day without at least one bowl of HB.

Hello John, Every Friday, " traditional" I smoke my Friday Savinelli. No problem to order my pipes in the U.S. But to order pipetobacco is a problem . Not possible to get C&D in Holland. I will never now what it is to smoke Haunted Bookshop, Plum Pudding or Pegasus or all the other tobacco`s from C&D. Even the Peterson-blends are not for sale anymore in the Netherlands. I think I'm moving to Central-Connecticut.... Greetings from Holland..

I loved Bond Street. Bought it in a big tin back in late 80's. Smoked the tin and couldn't find anymore. I I found out later that they stopped making it. Never had access to "Bourbon Street". I know it's not the same thing but I want to try this.
